I just know the stubborn delusion you must have to build a museum about your self and go on the career project that C Ronaldo has. Literally the eff what other people think about you attitude whilst partially caring also what they think to gear you up when required.

I just know it because personality wise there are people who have wished to one day be their own version of a C.Ronaldo before he even existed- grow up and be rich, be attractive to women, be successful in your job in different fields or different countries and get realised as the best at what you do because of it with the need for no help. Become a physical and mental phenomenon. Become a legend.

It's the same delusional arrogance that I was hoping to live by and one day hopefully achieve but he achieved it and he is doing it in football. Absolutely amazing.

For me C. Ronaldo is an art of a human being rather than a footballer & that's why I say if I have a son I will tell him to study him over a footballer who is born with talent.

Again as you can see - I am a fan like him and I am delusional.
Don’t get why you think it’s delusional when it’s things he’s actually achieved?

Whatever you call it, I really think it’s part of his brand promotion, and it’s exactly his brand which makes him earns over 40-50m every year from endorsement alone (he has the biggest individual brand in the world afterall) it’s not like he is so deluded to self-promote all these things without a huge market returns. It’s all about business, just like we have a Man Utd museum to promote our brand too. Are we all deluded?

Ronaldo is one of the most naturally gifted players of all time. He is 1.90, can jump incredibly high, but also is very fast and rarely gets injured. His incredible dedication for sure has a part, but some things can't be improved much even with training.

Yeah...

But there are and have been plenty of other footballers - some who are faster, some who are taller, and some who are more skillful than Ronaldo.

What always set him apart was his absolute dedication to be the best. Without that he'd just be another great player instead of the best of all time.

So many examples of players with similar talent but not similar dedication over the years, Ronaldinho and the other Ronaldo for instance, and the reason people were so impatient with Wayne Rooney was because he was never quite as dedicated as Ronaldo and (controversial opinion maybe) had more natural talent than him, maybe as much as Messi, if he hadn't been smoking, drinking, pissing around and such.

Give over, Rooney never had the natural talent of Ronaldo let alone Messi. Rooney just had the athleticism of an adult at 16 and reached his physical peak about 5 years younger than Ronaldo/Messi. He had good technique and was consistent for his age but he could never do the things that Ronaldo and Messi were doing even when they were breaking through.

Ronaldo always struck me as a hugely dedicated professional, who was giving absolutely 100% to the one thing he could be great at. But every time I've seen an interview with him, or a documentary about him, he sounds remarkably thick. Like astonishingly thick. Maybe he has educated himself a little bit over the years. He certainly has the drive to do it. But successful management comes down to leadership principles more than anything. Everything about Ronaldo screams selfish narcissist, which is anti-antithetical to good leadership. I know someone is going to bring up Mourinho at this point, but there is a reason he can never survive more than 2-3 seasons at a club.
Strange comments. He speaks 4 languages as a start, which thick individual can do that? He taught basically a generation what the word polemic was. How many thick people have that word to hand? Grandiloquence doesn’t mean anything (hello Boris), but that’s hardly the verbiage of a thick footballer.

What exactly is it about him that has led you to that conclusion?

The Rooney revisionism such as above is an intriguing phenomenon, which will clearly be written as fact a decade or two from now.

Rooney was better than Ronaldo when they were both kids. He was supremely talented and forget athleticism it was his football mind that set him apart from Ronaldo. But in hindsight Ronaldo was technically more gifted which probably made him the bigger talent especially given he developed much better and Rooney did.

C Ronaldo isnt thick - he is delusional & stubborn (much like his supporters). He had to be to get to the level of GOAT.

He wasnt born with a small physique, take growth hormone Injections to make it, stayed at one club & league all their life and weaning off once that team is looking weaker every year once their other legends keep retiring also.
.
 Well he didn't get the level of GOAT. The other lad you're taking a dig at did, or at least got far closer.

That’s not the case though lest the absolutely phenomenal amount of stratospheric improvements Ronaldo made be forgotten.

Plain and simple: Ronaldo’s ambition and dedication to his goals dwarfed Rooney’s and from there, tangential lines form and their paths emphatically split. If Rooney had the same application and dedication as Ronaldo, it would have been very interesting to see where he would have ended up as a player.

I kind of agree with that. If you are going to have that type of attitude then you better be extremely successful in whatever you do or else most people tend to really dislike this type of individualistic attitude. I know a couple of people that are obsessed with CR and they tend to emulate some of those characteristics, of course, without actually being the best at what they do; i dislike these people a lot.

I'm with you on this one. The guy would openly talk about his dream of Madrid, compared being here to being a slave and used us every summer to get a pay raise yet he's revered and people like De Gea and Rooney who gave their all for us are slammed the second they lose form. I don't get it.

He didn’t really make any slave comment despite what the tabloid titles would have made you believe and he certainly didn’t ‘use’ United every year because there were stories written about him leaving Madrid. He did force his way out of Manchester but he stayed another year, helped United win the league and reach a CL final and was always professional and respectful of the club after leaving.

I know a lot of people here see it differently but it’s crazy to me how anyone can be a Manchester United fan and dislike Cristiano Ronaldo or Wayne Rooney.

So you’re saying there’s a chance?

Not for us. Don't think so. Just because the club appears to have Rashford Martial and Greenwood for years to come. After signings like Zlatan and Sanchez, maybe the policy isn't to sign older players with short term thinking anymore.

I don't either, he gave us the chance to witness the best player at the time playing for the club. It doesn't happen often.

Clubs like Liverpool, City say the same with KDB, Salah, VVD but it is not the same.

Ronaldo was special and for the 3/4 years he was unplayable at times. When a player scores you big goals and wins you big trophies how can you dislike him? Yes, his off field might not be everyones cup of tea but on the pitch, him and rooney were outstanding.

Ronaldo losing a game as manager would be worse than Keane. He woud be sobbing into the mic how they need 11 Ronaldos

He's smarter and speaks better English than Rooney, that's for sure

I'd really like him to win a CL under Juventus- are Juventus keeping manager in Sarri or linked with any others in the media before or during the pandemic?

Since Juve are tidying up their accounts with pressure on the finances, I wonder is there a chance we could pinch him back to United for a season? He’d be a great asset with his experience and drive to be the best

His contract with Juve ends in 2022, that's the earliest I see him playing anywhere else. I think they'll renew and he'll stay one or two years more though.

Then he'll come home to put his former club back where it belongs. In Lisbon, of course. Not Manchester.

His wages are astronomical.

Anyone that's watched the last dance on Netflix will know that the level of dedication to get to the level Ronaldo did requires an almost sychopathic mentality

You might just be teasing with that last sentence but I can’t see him retiring without playing in LA first. Imagine if he could also sneak in a year or two at Flamengo and win the Libertadores. Speaks the language, Jorge Jesus might still be there...

2 years since he left Madrid, hasn't played football for months and the Barcelona twitter propaganda is as strong as ever. Impressive.

They're in a big mess financially and at loggerheads with perhaps their best player in history. Makes sense for them to deflect attention to something that will generate headlines.

Has a bit of Lukaku in him

Only occured to me now but they both have a propensity to point after they lose the ball as method to shift blame.

Perhaps a personality trait among footballers who have narcissistic personalities.

Ronaldo has the attitude and skill to warrant pointing.

Lukuku is a joke, and his teammates must laugh at him.

pointing can be the only Similarity between them.

I remember Bastian Schweinsteiger did that a lot too. I imagine their teammates must be annoyed.

Agreed. His first touch is basically a pass to the opponent. He annoyed me af and I am a fan.

According to Opta, this is the first time in Ronaldo’s club career that he has lost two consecutive finals. The blame lies squarely with Sarri.

He either needs to leave Juventus or make the board get a better manager. Their midfielders are so dire at creating chances that Dybala and him need to carry the whole team.
