Ugh he’s going to play centre forward and hit a shedload of goals. It’s going to be so annoying. Ronaldo and lukaku cleaning up and Pogba heading off on a free in the summer. Gotta get haaland or Kane 100% . The great PL arms race. Crazy league these days

This a thousand times.

Plus, he's shit now. This is the only way for him to stay under the spotlight.

No way in hell they'll win anything with him in the team.

I actually look forward to all the freekicks he smashes in the stands while KDB and Grealish look away.
Feels like Juve are the only ones winning, if this move happens. Don't think he makes City much better, will be hated by us, and not sure how happy he will be not running riot in the league

This is some bullshit.

How can Ronaldo do this to us? It hasn't happened yet, but it feels like it's closer to the needle of it happening to than it not.

Surely Fergie/Ole/Rio have got to have a word with him. What the feck is he doing?

From most loved to most hated. Despicable behaviour.

I don't think he was ever "most loved" was he? He was just one of the best to play for us. There was all that 'slave' stuff when he pushed for a move to Real and some of his antics on the pitch weren't always the most likeable. Couldn't compare Ronaldo to a Scholes or a Cantona in terms of most loved.

The boos will be deafening if he does to City.

Hated by Rio, Neville, SAF, Rooney.

What a way to ruin literally everything about his time at United.

Some of you lot need to get a grip. feck me he left over a decade ago and was a bit of a cnut about it.

City is owned by a bottomless oilpit
Chelsea is owned by a guy that plays real life FM
Manchester United is owned by a family that takes a substantial annual dividends, believes they are fair, and invests nothing in the club.

This will have a severe impact on the Messi vs Ronaldo debate on this forum.

Bit deluded to think he doesn't make City better. He makes them miles better. They don't have a goalscorer or someone to just be a poacher. Ronaldo is as good as they come when it comes to being a poacher these days. He literally gives them exactly what they need for both league and CL, especially how he does in big games.

I could stomach him at Chelsea, but seeing him play for City would be horrible.

Messi being Qatar's poster boy, and Ronaldo being UAE's... that Super League may not be looking so bad.

I genuinely hope Lewis Dunk gives him a welcome to potatofield football welcome with his face.

This is going to hurt. I’ve long since believed he didn’t really hold our club in any sort of affection, and it was more just a business relationship of convenience, but just seeing him going to City and becoming one of them will smart.

You can only bet that they will go all out to ensure he will further legitimise them in the years to come too with an ambassador role, provided he has any sort of success there. Now he will just be another Tevez for United.

Unless United suddenly start winning again, it may well be this moment – and not the Tevez signing – that really marks the shift in power.

"I never loved you! You were just a tool, to be used! I moved on, and so should you!"

Media: links CR7 to certain clubs.

CR7: Complains about false information being spread in the media.

Media: Immediately links CR7 to another club.

You all really see him as a legend of the club?

He was great i'll tell you that.
But we all knew it wasn't gonna last.
He's a merchant.
The boss took all the advantage from him and he repaid us with titles.

Then it was time to part ways.

This is just and old man trying to be relevant in todays football.

For all its worth, he might actually be a deadweight in Shitty's title hopes.

If he wants to score a few headers he’ll have to drop to his knees and nut the ball in from one of those tap ins City create

Of all his past clubs, why did it have to be us he decides to destroy his legacy with?
Well, Barcelona are skint and he's not quite at the point where he'd go to Benfica. So he didn't really have much of a choice for legacy-destroying antics.

Guess we can finally stop pretending that he's better than Messi now

Quite the turnaround from considering Fergie to be a father figure to disrespecting the club he became a star and legend at like this...

I suppose it's worth noting that City were not competitive rivals to us while Ronaldo was here, so he may not see them that way as much as someone who has played for us since around 2010 onwards.

Ah, the mental gymnastics has started. Of course he knows he will burn all the bridges if he moves and how big the hatred is.

He just doesn't care for any of that.

Talksport (I know) had a bit on Ronaldo to City yesterday and many United fans called in to convey their fury at the idea. Its probably because I'm not in Manchester and don't know any City fans, but I still find it hard to really care about anything that City do, in terms of them being a rival club. I'm far less annoyed about what they win and who they sign compared to many other clubs. To me they are simply a lottery winning club. If Mansour had decided to buy Newcastle or Everton they'd be the ones winning titles. This modern day version are simply the club that replaced the actual Manchester City.

He will score a shit load at city if he goes there.

Grealish, Ronaldo, Mahrez and De Bruyne how fiendishly sexy. City will be fun to watch.

I dont know why people are so shocked, Ronaldo never cared too much for United, he loves SAF, not the club.

Thinking about this some more, I would rather see any of our great go on to play for Liverpool over City. This is more galling.

I would imagine this deal is very unlikely anyway but primarily because I don't think City will do it, I'm sure Ronaldo would go there in a heartbeat. It would be incredibly annoying if he did go there because he's a brilliant player still although I'm not sure why so many United fans are so emotionally invested in a player who was pushing for a move away for half of his time with us (which was well over a decade ago now) and has used the club multiple times since leaving to get better deals elsewhere.

And most of all, he loves himself. It really shouldn't be a surprise, it's not like it's a new, hitherto unheard aspect of his personality: it was always obvious.
