For me, you simply don't join our closest rivals. Whether it's Law, Schmeichel, Ince, Tevez, Andy Cole, whoever...even Hughes managing City wasn't right. He didn't, we would've gone down even if we won that game.

Them being more than significant now is the difference. Anyway I don't know why so many fans are still so invested in him since he doesn't care one bit about United. So if anything most people should feel insignificant about the whole thing. They were always rivals, local rivals. Whether they were shit or not doesnt matter. Ronaldo doesnt deserve a statue at United he wasnt a club legend like Law
But Law did join them, and so did Cole and Schmeichel.
@Schmeichel's CartwheelTo be fair Schmeichel is a cartwheeling knobhead.
He didn't relegate us ffs. You don't get relegated based on one game. We was is that position because we were obviously shit and deserved relegated. There is a statue of Denis Law at Old Trafford- and he scored a goal for CIty that relegated us!
people still love Denis

That’s like saying Aguero’s goal didn’t win city the title….because they won other games previous! He didn't relegate us ffs. You don't get relegated based on one game. We was is that position because we were obviously shit and deserved relegated.

ah its grand if they join Utd from said rivalLaw played for City before he played for us
Yep. Just as it was fine for Giggsy and Sancho to join us. Not bothered about other clubs' philosophies. Once you've played here, it's a different story. It was fine for Law to join you after having played for Man City though?
See my other post. Sancho was at City longer than Law was (before joining us), by the way. Maybe the Huddersfield fans are more pissed than us? Who knows. As I say, I'm more concerned with what happens during and after our club.Law played for City before he played for us

Time to see what's on the other channels of inter-dimensional TV.Pep with ronaldo at city. Feels like multiverse.
That’s like saying Aguero’s goal didn’t win city the title….because they won other games previous!
Well, that's your opinion (as a Chelsea fan, no less). But mine is as stated. It's not though. As you've shown, many great Man United servants played for your rivals.
That "different story" only exists in your mind, not in reality.
The idea that Denis Law should be thought any less of because (after you released him on a free transfer!) he returned to a club he previously played for, is utterly bonkers.
Yeah, no, it's not. That’s like saying Aguero’s goal didn’t win city the title….because they won other games previous!
Law’s goal did not relegate Manchester United. They were going down anyway. His goal came in the 81st minute. At the time a draw wasn’t good enough for United. A win wasn’t even good enough for United. Results elsewhere meant they were going down even if, instead of Law adding insult to injury with a cheeky back-heeled finish, they had rattled off ten goals in the final ten minutes. In a football context it was a completely meaningless goal.
Sancho literally wasn't given a chance by City.See my other post. Sancho was at City longer than Law was (before joining us), by the way. Maybe the Huddersfield fans are more pissed than us? Who knows. As I say, I'm more concerned with what happens during and after our club.

Yeah, it's essentially City or PSG (if they sell Mbappe) who could "afford" him and who could have a space for him in their starting XI (debatable with PSG without compromising the balance of the team). Those are his options if he still wants to be competitive (knowing Ronaldo, that goes without saying). He’s not going to care about United at all, if one of the best clubs in the world are looking for a striker and want him he’d be an idiot not to want to join at his age, it’s not as if he’ll be getting much more offers and a team like City could save his legs through rest and being a box striker..
Id obviously prefer this didnt happen, but part of me thinks there is a real chance it could upset the entire City squad. If I knew for sure I say bring it on. It would be hilarious to see Ronaldo and City fail
Aye, those annual quotes around the time of those wage negotiations have even been brought up in this thread as evidence of his love for us . I have no doubt he feels affection for SAF and the club, but not enough for the club to prevent him from joining City IMO.This. The constant adulation of an ex player who fecked off and spent his prime years elsewhere baffles me. We are only mentioned in the same breath when he was after his bi annual wage increase from Madrid.
@Schmeichel's CartwheelTo be fair Schmeichel is a cartwheeling knobhead.
Obviously for him it might be the next best situation, but it's not his ONLY option.I’m pretty ambivalent to it. And Juventus want Ronaldo out. They don’t want his wages regardless of what they say. He’s been blamed for their fall from grace and if memory serves he got dropped end of last season. Where else can be go? I’m sure Mendes has tried to shift him here but if we aren’t biting and no other club is in for him then can you actually blame him for going to City? Two of the greatest footballers have both ended up at oil state clubs because none of the others could afford their wages - there’s a lesson on sustainability there somewhere but nobody will learn it I’m sure.
And I'm delighted about it.Sancho literally wasn't given a chance by City.
Surely the whole world of football needs him to go to PSG so we can see Cristiano and Messi finally link up?Yeah, it's essentially City or PSG (if they sell Mbappe) who could "afford" him and who could have a space for him in their starting XI (debatable with PSG without compromising the balance of the team). If he'd rather take personal joy over millions of fans that idolised him, then that shows what sort of guy he really is IMO.
I wouldn't be against that idea. "MRN"Surely the whole world of football needs him to go to PSG so we can see Cristiano and Messi finally link up?
The fanboys will still love him. They'll find a way to convince themselves it's ok to carry on doing to it.
oh 100%. You've already seen the mindset of some on here that will literally cheer him scoring for City. The fanboys will still love him. They'll find a way to convince themselves it's ok to carry on doing to it.
On account of the fact he is contracted to Utd currently, yes he is ours and he gave us something last season we will miss when he is gone. I don’t understand the logic in giving that away, doesn’t mean I don’t want Ronaldo too. Pay the £25m and get him here to play with Cavani. One season and he is our... meanwhile we will let Ronaldo go to city who gave United everything we couldn't even dreamt of winning without him.
I'll always love what he did in a utd shirt. Best player to grace the English game playing for the club I support and winning everything, including the Ballon D'or, 3 league titles in a row and a PL/CL double. No Chelsea player has ever come close to that. The fanboys will still love him. They'll find a way to convince themselves it's ok to carry on doing it.
Yes I think it’s fun to see Ronaldo playing with Messi at PSG. It’s ok to disagree.
But what a team they would be...in theory, anyway. And so a chain reaction all starts with Mbappé:I wouldn't be against that idea. "MRN"
Ronaldo would have to play CF though and I pity the work that midfield behind them needs to put in
Actually, PSG's best bet if they sell Mbappe to Madrid, would be to buy Pogba as the third attacker. That would balance their team better.
