I know he probably is a narcissistic prik, but where is the value choosing City over retaining the legacy at United and keeping the strong relationship with Sir Alex ? Potensially winning another CL or Ballon D or ? Second one aint gonna happen, and he has 5 Cl gold medals already. Its not about the money either.

Based on everything we know about Ronaldo, I would say he is extremely unlikely to believe that either a) he has zero chance of winning another Ballon d'Or and b) any amount of CL wins is enough if it's still possible to win more.

Are you sure it (a feeling of grievance) didn't apply to Arsenal and Leeds for those deals? If Ageuro moved to us while we were their close rivals and was still quality of course City fans would be upset.
I’m calling out the fallacy and hypocrisy in crying about this happening and welcoming other fierce rivals’ talismanic players when they come to us. At the end of the day, this isn’t about some high brow principle of loyalty and connection with fans, just tribalism, wanting to one up others etc

I stopped giving a shit about what he did when he left us to join his dream club when we were on top of the world and Madrid was in no man’s land. Utd fans still slavishly following him years later like a bunch of infatuated teenage girls are an embarrassment.

He also scored a goal that knocked us out of the first division, but that didn’t stop him from being a legend.

But Ronaldo's not a legend anyway.

I think his relationship with fergie is a nice to have for him, winning another champions league is what he really wants.

Honestly, Ronaldo can get fecked if he goes to City. It would also further prove to me how brain dead our fanbase is, when the majority chose to still support Ronaldo after he left us and yet decided that Rooney was a traitor and on his way to City, so he gets dogs abuse and shitty fat jokes to this day.

What’s going on? Because there’s been a massive swing in odds United now 5/4 to get him after being massive outsiders just a few hours ago?

Odds don't mean much, though I cling to hope. I don't think I could physically stomach seeing him in a city shirt, let alone scoring for them or winning trophies with them. SAF better be on the phone to him.

Few rumbles about a late United bid...probably bollocks but just imagine!

All cameras are gonna be on Sir Alex when he enters Old Trafford again in that ugly blue shirt. I wonder how his face is gonna look.

Does anyone expect the recieving player to have an issue with getting a rivals ex talisman? Makes no sense.

I definitely agree about the last (which for some reason I removed) about United fans being really small time over the years pining for someone who left for RM.

Is it? This is what you get when half of the clubs are broke due to the fact that oil and Russian retirement funds have inflated the game beyond saving. All the old big clubs are struggling to keep up and some of them have even accepted they're new status. This problem will only get worse if the ones running the game won't step in and try to fix this.

Nobody should be paying a 37 year old Ronaldo over 300k and Messi shouldn't be getting anywhere near 35-50m a year as a 34 year old. And the thing is nobody can do it except?

They should've stepped in much earlier. Even before Chelsea, the big clubs completely dominated the market and could just buy success. It had started being an at least somewhat fair competition even back then.

Moreover, the clubs have themselves to blame. Nobody forced Barca to burn hundreds of millions of cash for Galactico signings. Nobody forced Madrid to build a stadium for €550m instead of investing the money into their squad. Or paying Bale €40m (?) a year. Let's not forget that not too long ago, Barca was the first club to break the €1bn mark in revenue. Messi would've gone nowhere if they didn't screw up royally.

Basically if you are happy to dish it out then you should take it when it’s your turn.

I know human psychology doesn’t exactly work like that, but if you (not you specifically) have been giving it large about Owen/RvP winning a title here and making fun of Liverpool/Arsenal unable to do it with him, then it’s only fair that you shouldn’t be up in arms when something like this happen to you.
