Some comical reactions

Ronaldo spent his last couple of seasons with us wanting to leave United was always just a stepping stone. He went on to more success since

He never really cared that much about us & is no less dislike-able than Rooney tevez or even or greatest ever players like giggs & best

it’s time to move on fanboys

you’ll get there eventually

United and Sir Alex made him what he was a couple of years ago.
He should still respect United and i'm sure that SAF is really hurt about this.
Rooney did not mince his words about this transfer.
If people can't see how bad this is on Ronaldo and his reputation then this really is a mad world!

This is a solid point. Going to a rival to directly compete and possible hinder their chances of winning titles. When the Manager/Club that brought you up will 100% see it as sacrilege.

It’s obvious why he would want to go to City.

Wonder if he can get Sterling’s shirt thrown into the deal…

Man City is a different deal.

Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal...Man City just feels dirty as hell. Filthy. I'd also say that those players you've mentioned weren't considered legends for their clubs previously (maybe Owen?). They were good, no doubt.

It just feels really wrong.

Because you're on the shitty end of this one and the good end of the those other examples, that's why it feels wrong.

I can’t believe we aren’t trying to sign him. I honestly think we have tried to buy Ronaldo but he doesn’t want to risk his last few years with Ole as Ole has never won anything. I think this is the major reason why he is going to go to city and play under Pep. If Ronaldo came back to us and we won the league could you imagine how much we would love him? I’m just glad he’s going to city and not Liverpool. I don’t think I could deal with him going to Liverpool.

the likes of Ronaldo don’t care about United even a fraction as much as you and I sadly

I don’t respect this move but I wouldn’t be suprised

Rooney can't talk, he was on the verge of quitting Utd for City himself and held the club to ransom to stay...

Well said. Great player but United legend? Not a hope in hell.
His fans acted like he was here for 12 years and having the club at heart. He moved on as soon as he could and people forgot how he acted and what ge said. Amazing player, amazing that he played for this club, but thats about it. Now that he considers City just shows what it is now for him.

The whole Instagram PR post from a few days ago when he tried to get back to Real and was turned down is utterly embarrassing BUT really represents Cristiano and his vanity well.

 at people thinking he'd come here instead for 2/3 of the wages.

Some of you are blinded by fanboyism.

We should check the overlap between them and the "Messi should play for Barcelona for free" brigade

He's not the right profile for us right now from a footballing PoV - age, position, wages. To be honest I don't think he fits Pep's way either.

But even so I'm sure Woodward would love to go out with a bang, so we have most likely asked the question.

He also scored a goal that knocked us out of the first division, but that didn’t stop him from being a legend.
United were relegated regardless if Law scored or not, he was just doing his job. Law was also visibly upset and refused to celebrate the goal he scored against us. He didn't push to leave United he was offloaded by the club after becoming injury prone. You are comparing 2 completely different sets of circumstances.

Need to bring back Nani to ease the pain

Then asked to be substituted because he was so upset. United were relegated regardless

I wonder if all would be forgiven if he struggled and flopped there and City decided to ditch him next summer?

PR spin how he was offered to us but we said no, so he had no choice but to sign for City, its gonna be great, sheep gonna eat that shit up like a good boys they are.

Also, why the feck you would put a name of that prick on new United merch, what the feck is wrong with these weirdos.

Maybe this cnut has a point, maybe some of them think he is on loan and he will come back home one day

Probably, most certainly. If it were Chelsea/Arsenal/Spurs though...I think the dagger would feel less painful.

our rivalries with those clubs is bigger than the manufactured rivalry with City. People are up in arms about it because City is a force these days and we have that has-been glow to us. Hopefully bagging a few trophies will go a way at remediating that. But ultimately, I think the uproar is rooted in United being synonymous with “Manchester” and success for so long, but these days it feels like things are going more and more the other way. City signing Ronaldo, even at his age, makes it feel like United is finished out here, but I’m sure we’ll be alright.

The same way you’re saying those players having legend status at the clubs we bought them for is debatable, the same could be said about Ronaldo at United. To me, he’s a United legend, but there’s plenty people that feel otherwise. I’m sure that prior to us bagging RvP or Sanchez there were Arsenal fans that felt they were legends there already. I think us signing them was worse from a perspective of those clubs as we bought them directly from them, most in their peak. Meanwhile Ronaldo has played at Madrid for like a decade and then Juve. Guy is in his twilight years.

Pedulla says we tried to make a "desperate" attempt in the night

Imagine Woody waking up, cold sweating in the middle of the night. He sits off the edge of his bed, his held head in his arms. His wife leans over, gently caressing his shoulder, and whispers, "Edward, what's wrong?" He turns around, eyes wide, face pale as if he had just seen the devil himself, and replies, "I can't let this happen. I know what I must do." He gets off the bed, grabs his phone and heads to his office, calls Mendes, with no regard for the time of night, and says, "What do you need to make this move happen?"

Yeah sorry, but the only thing I noticed looking there yesterday is how much those cnuts are moaning at the way their club is handling transfer business or can't get the deal done.
It's easily on the level that's been here and when you count all the deals they made during the last 10+ years and their success it is actually astonishing. Guess all those years being in the football basement makes the fanbase somehow even more entitled and not the other way around. Should be a solid case study in that sense, but not sure who would be interested to deal or read more about that bunch.

As for Ronaldo, let him be. Let's see how it goes on the pitch first. After initial excitement and pleasure it can easily go tits up, especially with Pep entering his last two years and announcing it. Ronaldo isn't so young anymore while his ego is the same, if not bigger. He also isn't excatly Pep kind of player and if it somehow goes ugly, it can go very ugly. In the end, that's all what it matters, they can have one over United and that juvenile crap for now.

Got to wonder if pep is leaving because he doesn’t want Ronaldo.

it’s a marketing thing with them just like grealish.

I'd be disgusted if we bought Ronaldo. He's exactly the type of disruptive Woodward signing we don't need. Could briefly be a cherry on the cake for City, but he'd be the antithesis of building a new team. If United wanted Ronaldo, he'd be at United. We don't and there's no reason to wet the bed about it. Few places his final paycheck makes sense, City is one of them. Couldn't care less.

I hope we dont move for him

Yesterday I felt it would be an unnecessary signing, but after hearing about Cavani missing out quite a few games + considering his record with injuries i'm getting second thoughts.
