Ofcourse he'd be invested. He's still club director ffs.
Sure. I didn't say he won't care.
Ofcourse he'd be invested. He's still club director ffs.
But he doesn’t really care about his status with United fans. If he did he wouldn’t have left in the first place. He has more Champions Leagues than anyone else yet he strives for one more.Winning one more of a trophy he has plenty of, with an oil club, adds very little while massively diminishing his status at a club that existed before 2009.
I wonder if this is an attempt at sportwashing Mendy's (alleged) misdeeds
Does anyone remember his on field tantrums the season after United refused the sell him to Real Madrid? Ronaldo literally started the campaign with "I won't celebrate a goal and look super grumpy when I know the camera is on me" shenanigan. The guy has always been a dramaqueen of the highest order.
Joining Leeds is certainly more palatable than joining City yes, but it’s a moot point because one of the greatest of all time isn’t joining Leeds whereas there are only a very small pool of teams better than Utd.
That’s bullshit and you know it. It’s not like he was born and went straight to acting and was rich from day 1.Guy I know works at a hotel that Johnny Depp was staying at, Depp had to ask this dude where a person goes to buy toothpaste.
It is not the money. It’s about winning another league and Champions league. Only City outside of PSG can offer him that.
I am just trying to put myself in his shoes. Surely money is not short? I mean, why does he need so much?
We had better! I'm trying not to get too invested in this, but even the idea is infuriatingly annoying. If it happens I hope we boo him at OT.
My point isn’t really that deep. I think on ability Ronaldo is the best to play for Man Utd and the best in the Premier League. The fact that he’s one of the best of all time helps his claim. Just don’t think many players come close to that level of ability, including Henry. If you could choose peak Arsenal Henry or peak Man Utd Ronaldo for one season only who would you choose? So Ronaldo best PL years were better thatn Henry best PL years, despite tangible data showing that it's not really the case?
It's very difficult to argue that Henry isn't the better PL player compared to Ronaldo, even if you didn't give him the "peak" which is highly debatable, Henry was statisically better, he has longevity and consistency for him. As far as I know Henry is the consensus best PL player.
I sometimes wonder if a part of Fergie doesn’t mind seeing United’s slump as it further cements his legacy. If Moyes had took over & continued winning titles you would’ve heard “was Fergie that great or did he just have great players?” But given that we’ve seen managers like LVG & Mourinho fail, it must give Fergie a slight ego boost.I would bet good money that he gives far less of a shit than many on here.
That was mainly a garbage reply to a garbage poster .La Liga is a farmers league now?
This. He will complete this City side and add that CL pedigree they have been missing.Let's be real here, he's going to City and Pep to win absolutely everything, they are in a much better position than where he is now with Juve.
Yes of course that will have an impact. If city and Utd are operating at a similar level then Ronaldo going to city could be the difference maker that makes the gulf even wider and ensures city continue to win titles that Utd could be winning. That’s a double negative. If Ronaldo went to Leeds, he’s not really a threat to Utd, and while it would be disappointing for him to join a rival club, at least that isn’t haven’t a directly negative impact on the playing field. It’s not a moot point at all.
The reason I posed that hypothetical scenario is because I am genuinely interested in what your seemingly vague criteria is when it comes to labelling someone as a club legend or not.
In black and white - are you saying that he would still be a legend in your eyes if he joined Leeds United?
You seem to be suggesting that it would be ok if he joined a rival club who are not as good as United.
This. He will complete this City side and add that CL pedigree they have been missing.
I've always been fond of Ronaldo and a possible return, but I think his love gravitated around Sir Alex more so than the actual club.
That’s bullshit and you know it. It’s not like he was born and went straight to acting and was rich from day 1.
lets be honest, if the allegations are true, no amount of sportswashing will help.I wonder if this is an attempt at sportwashing Mendy's (alleged) misdeeds

The one where he was better than one in two still? Too much is made of this season because of all the noise around his departure. His performances didn't dip that badly.Rooney and Ronaldo played together for five years, during which Ronaldo was only indisputably better for one season out of five.
It’s weird how Ronaldo’s last season with us is forgotten about. You know, the one where he scored in one away game in the league all season and look uninterested half the time.
City winning many CL titles? It is not the money. It’s about winning another league and Champions league. Only City outside of PSG can offer him that.
If the deal was to happen, I guess it would just be a 1 year deal and they will go back in for their long term target Kane next summer or try and get Haaland?
Huh? He was miles better from 06-09.Rooney and Ronaldo played together for five years, during which Ronaldo was only indisputably better for one season out of five.

City winning many CL titles?
Your two examples have the grand total of 0 CL wins.
I kind of hope it happens. I have no real sentimental feelings about Ronaldo, and I don't think he would improve City. He'll score a bunch of goals but will also ruin a lot of promising moves by shooting from impossible angles. I'm not sure all the goals outweigh the bad anymore, certainly not in a Pep side which I don't think he's very suited to. I'm actually a little surprised City would feel like this is a good idea.
I actually think Pep would be reluctant becauase of the media circusCIty missed out on Messi and getting CR7 is great for them commercially, not sure about wise it is from a footballing perspective

he doesn’t need to win anymore trophies, is it really so bad in Italy?
I don’t think you need to be a rocket science to understand those are the teams who currently give him the best chance of winning at least one more UCL title in the next couple of years. I never said he was moving to a club with history.City winning many CL titles?
Your two examples have the grand total of 0 CL wins.
So were Andy Cole and Denis Law? Once they leave, feck them. Can play for whoever. Players come and go. The club is the fans.
I’m saying if he wants to win a CL then going to 2 teams who have never won it and have fecked it up every single season isn’t an argument to make. You are deliberately being silly now.
Are you suggesting that City and PSG aren’t two of the best teams in world football at the moment who have a good chance of winning the champions league over the next 2/3 seasons?
You know, the bookies know and I know, that they are favourites for a reason.
