People who say we should pay him his contract off, IMO are wrong.
If Ronaldo wants to leave, it has to be contract termination with no pay out, so mutual termination.
If not, we tell him he has to train alone, if he doesn't, keep giving him fines and recover wages that way. We should not be paying him £20m to leave the club.
If he wants that, we should keep him but not play him until the summer. We need to show him the disrespect he wants to see.
Not only are they wrong but it's a poor business decision. If United hold any asset and the said player desires to leave all that would be required is for them to do the same thing essentially and then go and sign on a free elsewhere.
Ronaldo cannot play for the first team again neither will train with them I would imagine. It's either he's sold in winter or a termination where he buys himself out of his contract is issued. Another alternative which is nonconcurrent to the commercial side is if they decide to sue him for defamation which I don't think it would happen, nevertheless the club certainly have a case for it.
