Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

Yeah, it's brutal. This forum is actually quite mild and composed on comparison. You get the sense that people are a little more hurt in here because of the previous legend(debatable) status, though.

Yeah people are ridiculing him everywhere

What's funny about going to Saudi at 38?
Nothing if you don’t throw the toys out of the pram in the summer and then go off whinging to Morgan in a shitty interview

I don't think CR7 has the same self-awareness as Zlatan. The latter is accepting a squad role in Milan. Last year, he started barely every other game before his injury, and even less after coming back from it. However, he kept his head calm and helped them the best he can to finally win an unlikely League title.

True, but a year or so of playing in front of 5'000 - 10'000 fans might just bring his ego crashing down to earth.

Those other clubs that wanted to sign you...are they in the room with us right now?

He doesn’t even know the club’s nation he is signing for? And he said he doesn’t worry about what others say? Lul…lying through his teeth, just see how he treated Rooney and Neville

This will be like the Chinese League a few years ago: a lot of good transfers, generated some interested who lasted a couple of months and then it returned back to the obscurity.

China was a bit different. They pumped in huge cash with the aim of improving the local players to give themselves a chance at qualifying for a World Cup. Once they realised it wasn't having that big of an effect on the local players, they introduced the salary cap etc + combined with the Evergrande financial collapse last year, pretty much every Chinese club is now broke.
Saudi have unlimited money along with already having a high level (relative) of local players. It can definitely be a much more successful retirement/high salary league compared to China. It's not impossible that they can sustain it when theres unlimited money essentially. The Saudi's offered Tiger about $800 mil to join Liv. If they want to boost the profile of the league (I'm not overly sure they care, Ronaldo is more for the World Cup bid imo) they definitely can.

South fekin Africa.

When you think you've seen and heard it all he mentions South fekin Africa.

I guess he got the first two letters correct, what an idiot.

Man literally just had to not be a giant penis for a couple of weeks before the World Cup, and he’d currently be playing for a European giant, where he’s near universally beloved, 1 point off second in the Premier League with a huge European clash against Barcelona in a month… almost everything he wanted, just in a slightly reduced role. Yet instead he burned all his bridges, made himself practically unemployable to any respectable coach by demonstrating how unmanageable he’d be, and now he doesn’t even know what country he’s in whilst he shamelessly contradicts every ambition he claimed to have whilst holding up a truly horrendous kit with a painfully painted smile.

Just absolutely astonishing shit. Truly a banner couple months

Who’s the woman that was questioning him she’s bloody gorgeous.

"Why couldn't we have gone to LA?" is all I saw when I seen a random clip of his family being there. It can't be that bad money-wise in the MLS given it's nailed on Messi is retiring in Miami. Guess the MLS didn't really want him either

Still couldn't believe this.

Ronaldo and Arab doesn't go well together, but the more I think about it, he kind of fit in well there.

He doesn't drink and party, loves hot climate and collecting cars. He probably doesn't have that many close friends either.

Apparently he had a falling out with Mendes in November and he's no longer his agent, according to the press in Portugal. He used another agent to complete the deal to Al Nassr.
