He has already cost himself 3 goals and assists with offside shenanigans (sociedad, Everton and Newcastle) and we dropped points in 2 of the 3 games. If we're going to sink our attack playing for him the least he can do is not stroll when teammates are begging for an outlet. He's also just as much of a converted inside forward as Rashford or Martial. His play and movement even seems more geared to having a strike partner.

He started the game by misplacing a simple pass out of play from the kickoff, then you knew how it would go.
It was a nice passing sequence too but then he proceeds to kick the ball out of play.
Good thing he's got Bruno there for them to get in each others way and mess things up.

About that he really needs to adapt quick after missing preseason. That 3 man give and go ETH likes to use, it looks like he's running into the giver when he should be the goer. Literally running into the path of passes made to Bruno when he could be spatially positioned for easy cutback tap ins. Of course is just a guess at what they are attempting but what isn't a guess is he shouldn't be running into his attack partner so much. It's hard to watch him play this way.
It's not all directly Ronaldo. Our playmakers make things worse to go route one to Ronaldo, even Antony who just got here and is beyond acquainted with Ten Hag's system. At some point all the key actors need to realise it's not in the club's best interest.

I doubt Ronaldo would have been in the position to miss that header that Rashford missed. I thought Rashford did better than Ronaldo eventhough Rashford should really have scored that header...
I saw that and rolled my eyes hard. We started pretty well, with some nice composed passing from the back to beat Newcastle press, moved the ball to midfield from our defenders then when the ball got to Ronaldo he immediately put it out of play with a bad pass, and reality sunk in. Sigh.
