That post sounded like he's allowed to not to listen.
Of course he isn’t. He is allowed to have his own view and talk about it. In the end hes walking away nodding yes

No reason other than him acting out what he likes to do.

I have no time for Ronaldo these days, believe me - but why would he sulk/be angry about anything today?

I mean, what is it that people think here? That he was super insulted by being subbed off? That's ridiculous - it was his first match in ages. And I doubt very much that it came as a surprise to him - it was probably decided well in advance that he wouldn't play more than one half.

He's made many enemies over here (rightfully so) and has certainly soured the opnion of many fans about him but folk are really over reacting here

I think he'll try his best to leave till the last moments of the window like last year but I doubt anyone takes him, just hope if he stays he puts his entire focus on the team and not be an ass.

Do you remember last season Ralf subbed him, what was his reaction? If it was decided in advance ok, but I can see problems ahead every time he'll get subbed or won't start a game. And he shouldn't be a starter really, especially since he skipped preseason. And he might still leave if anyone wants him anyway.

This thread is an all out war already and we've only watched a 45 mins friendly game so far

It's not "vs" . Both were telling the same thing but different on what message they tried to convey.
No. They’re both not saying the same thing. Goldbridge is saying Ronaldo had permission from ETH. The Times and Guardian are saying we’ve refused to comment on if he had permission. So either Goldbridge has better sources than either of them at the club - which is unlikely considering he quite literally shits on everyone at the club other than Ronaldo and DVB 4 times a day to make money - then he’s talking out of his bollocks and just guessing to continue his arse licking agenda. Now it likely will turn out that Ronaldo did have permission - I don’t really care - I’m far more concerned about how detrimental his lack of movement off the ball is to the team and the fact we seem hellbent on keeping him than his potential huffing after getting subbed in a friendly - but any suggestion Mark Goldbridge is a source of information equal to legitimate journalists can absolutely jog on.

It's amusing that those claiming he brings too much drama seem to be the ones constantly making dramatic posts about Ronaldo. Seems like they enjoy the drama more than they think.

Would sell him for any reasonable amount to any team, just to free us from the drama that will be attached to him this year.

I agree. What's amusing too is his fans finding an excuse for whatever he does.

Both are saying the same thing that Ronaldo left. One saying that he left with others, the other saying Ronaldo left but didn't tell if he left alone or with others.

Refused to comment just means they don't know what exactly happened, or have different purpose with not telling all they know. Not telling the whole story doesn't mean they lie but it can convey different message. And yeh, you cared enough to use that tweet to support your post.

I mean, it's not that hard to understand.
Quite clearly it is  Whether he left alone or with others has feck all relevance. The permission from ETH is what has relevance. And they aren’t saying the same thing about that.

Of course whether he left alone or with others have different message. It's quite logical that if he left with 9 other players, for example, most likely they got permission from EtH or he just followed whatever others were doing.

When he goes to Chelsea and scores the winner against us the CAF may just break.

If - and I seriously doubt it'll happen - he goes to Chelsea, there should be a separate Ronaldo sub-forum created, so every sane poster can stick it on ignore. It'll save having to ignore multiple threads on a weekly basis.

He did that in 2008 for me. This is just a re-run of what happened back then. It's history repeating.

Yeah, he did that for me as well it got us a lot of cash at least.
I gave him the benefit of doubt when he came back last season, im willing to do so against if he doesn't make a big fuss if he ends up staying.

Does that mean he shouldn't listen to managers instructions?

Thankfully that’s not what I said, but more importantly, are you assuming that’s what transpired in that exchange between him and Ten Hag?

Who said he didn’t?

these people are insane.

That post sounded like he's allowed to not to listen.

That post sounded like Ronaldo is an experienced player and will give his input to the manager about what’s happening on the pitch and/or why he did XYZ instead of ABC.

We don’t even know what they were talking about though, but to expect an experienced player to just nod doesn’t seem healthy for the team nor realistic from my POV

Word

That was so bizarre. A prime example of a player giving him the ball simply because he is Ronaldo.
That was mainly a prime example of Garner shying away from responsibility and not being brave enough to do anything with the ball but few yards passes.

I honestly can’t remember someone like Giggs ever having an interaction like that in his late 30s. It’s not really a time for debate, it’s just an opportunity for coaches to pass on instructions. Often players are too in their own heads to take anything in, but if they do engage, it doesn’t tend to be them sharing their own view. That’s not really the point of it. What’s the value of Ronaldo sharing his opinion here? Ten Hag’s telling him something for a reason; to change things on the pitch. Ronaldo can’t expect anything positive to come from it, so he can only be doing it because it makes him feel better.

Totally. These drama queens made him go on strike and forced his transfer request. It's all their fault, and I'm outraged they have the nerve to talk about it on a forum.

You're right. Experienced professional shouldn't just skip preseason or make a fuss about being subbed too. We'll see.

Sounds like a fictional rumour, created and circulated by his online sycophants. What other players? The only player photographed leaving early was Ronaldo. On his own. And “traffic” is such a lame excuse. When has any other Manchester United footballer ever been allowed to leave the ground before the match was over because “traffic”?

Oh and what the feck was he doing in the director’s box during a match? What other players were up there with him? Why weren’t they on the bench?!

Not fiction anymore.

Yeah - which is why it looks a bit odd.

It does look a bit odd.

But - of course - we could easily be blowing it out of proportion. We don't know the exact context.

The ridiculous aspect of this is that Ronaldo's faithful defenders insist that there's absolutely nothing to see here, nothing at all, it's all hype and bias.

Well, under the circumstances - it isn't. It's a bit odd - probably nothing, but still a bit odd.

I mean, what do his faithful defenders (and yes - that's a thing, anyone claiming it isn't, is taking the bloody piss) expect here? That people just pretend nothing has happened over the summer, and that he's just another squad member?

Yep totally agree

He seriously blows far too many good chances these days. Missed so many last season he could have ended up on 25 goals in the league if the didnt blow half the chances into the stands.

If he wants out let him leave. Holding a 38 year old here against his will is incredibly daft move. Yes, we have no real reliable goalscorer but you think a disinterested Ronaldo would make things any more positive?

Imagine Haaland on the end of that DVB pass in the 1st half, his taking 1 touch and burying it in the corner.

I know Ronaldo is clearly not match fit right now, but we've seen him taking chance like that during last season.

I just think for the money + circus he brings it isn't worth it at all. We put up less of a battle for him in his prime ffs.

Agreed although I'm only thinking about performance strictly. That media BS is of no interest to me shite papers who want clicks.

What are you talking about that only happened during that bad 2 month period outside of that he was finishing everything. Do you forget that he was literally the only person taking any of the chances for huge parts of the season? Bruno, rashford, elanga etc these guys were the ones wasting opportunities.

Showed the biggest issue when Garner kept passing him the ball and he refused to turn and get his head up just kept passing the ball back to James despite being in space.

Martial isn't world class but in that situation he would get his head up, turn and turn that into an attack rather than us ending up losing possession.

He does try to press so I won't call him lazy. He is just often quite poor in open play.
This clip?
