Well that's all those quotes are saying. Not really spokesperson job but it's pointing out the obvious as some were spreading rumors he's eating lunch alone hissing at the English players
Tabloid papers in posting rubbish shocker. Tbh it just reads funny. Comes across like an agent of the player. But it seems he's got good links with him which is strong for Romano's reputation in the game.

Don’t mind him mate. He’s not worth it when it comes to Ronaldo. All he does is come to this thread and find a way to say something negative about the man. Guess you can’t be the best player of all time without having a ton of people like him constantly wishing you fail.
Yeah but he isn't the best player of all time. Also you're so easily wound up it's sad. Support a club instead of a player. It's usually what grown ups do. Unless..

He is for me. And I do support the club, don’t go out of my way to find ways to crap on one of our own players just because I happen to like another player who has scored multiple CL final goals against us. Oh, the irony hahahaha

We get it. You're butt hurt and can't take any criticism of your man crush. But this is a forum for grown ups where our own players will be critically analyzed and if needed criticized. When they do well *drumroll* they'll be praised. Naturally Ronaldo wanting to leave in the summer and generally not being a great fit for the footy many want to see was going to lead to negative views on him. It's his job to win those fans back or of course leave. When he plays well he'll get credit as you can see from the mild positivity based on cameo. But you'll have to have tougher skin to deal with it, that's for sure.

For you it may be all about Ronaldo/Messi/Americana GOAT bollocks. For most it's about Manchester United and our interest only.

I mean I know your agenda, and your takes on everything else are frankly awful too, so nice try in spinning this bud but I’ve had enough of you. On mute ya go.

There's no spinning requirement when your low grade posts do the work for me. Glad I won't have to bother responding to your fanboi bile anymore.

Reverting to calling someone a fanboi every other post also isn't very helpful. Just come to grips with the fact that some United fans like Ronaldo the player and want to see him do well here, which would be very good for all parties involved.

Yeah so nobody has an issue with that so it's an irrelevant statement. Now that the dust has settled every sensible fan would want Ronaldo to have a great season and contribute in whatever capacity whether they feel he should start / rotate. But rabid individual obsession is definitely an unfortunate by product of the modern game and calling that out every now then is important. You should know being a mod / admin / whatever. My post was aimed at Romano after all poking some fun at him.

Its actually quite relevant given that you're continuing to argue the point. Its quite interesting that the obsession with the player appears to be coming largely from his detractors than those with a favorable view towards him.

I wonder what the reaction will be in this thread when he reaches 150 goals for the club :nervous: "he's not a legend!" and "he is too!"

As relevant as you wading into a conversation and then finding difficulty understanding why people are replying to you. Real curve ball for you to deal with I suppose.

Not really. But as a big fan I'd expect you to have that biased view of course.

I suggest you cool your jets or else leave the thread.

Thought he was decent on the whole on Sunday. Looks a bit rusty, granted, but there's an argument to be made for him opening up avenues for other players in a certain kind of match context.

What I don't get, though, is the logic in crying out for him to start games on the basis of his recent sub appearances. Call me a simpleton, but to me what we've seen indicates that we should keep playing him as a sub, not start him (at least not in the league).

I suppose it depends on the opponent. In general I'd like us to continue to play the current system but in gamed where the opponent is going to park the bus he could get a good amount of chances and we know he's still pretty lethal. Of course he could start other types of games too if he's really sharp or none if ETH wants us putting out a really high physical output.

Think this will be the first season in about 17 years where he doesn’t get over 20 goals. He’ll still get plenty of minutes but I can see him being asked to drop a bit deeper and bring others into play, play off him etc perhaps.

If we get to a point where we can comfortably create a lot of chances against an inferior/bus parking opponent whilst staying in control of the match as such - then yes, it might make sense to have Cristiano on hand as the primary finisher (in the box) from the beginning of the match.

His wages will never be justifiable at this stage of his career (which to fair is completely understandable at his age), however I can't help shake the feeling that he will provide some very big moments still in the coming months. Call it blind faith but I see a guy who had no preseason and is down on confidence. The fact is that he at the moment has to accept his role and I think his ego means he'll put his head down and work hard. I still think the talent is there for him to win us a good few points this season, he just needs time to find form for now.

I think he did ok coming on to close the games maybe/hopefully adding a few more goals in the last third of games. Yes he will be very important to break down stubborn teams that will be there to frustrate and play for maybe a draw. It’s evident he hasn’t got the legs anymore.

Every now and then?

Like the other poster said, don't try and spin this because I clearly remember last season you ready to trash on Ronaldo and his "fanbois" every bad game he had but nowhere to be seen when he would score a hattrick.

Please don't act like you don't have something against the player. I don't care if you do, I don't like Rashford much as a player myself but I am open and honest about it. Don't hide behind some notion of "putting down fanboyism" every now and then

Yeah, I think he will provide more of those moments too this season. It's just ingrained into his way of playing that he'll find a way to score at critical moments. Ever since he left Real Madrid, last season was easily the season I saw him have the most special moments, way more than any Juventus season (actually honest to god I think it was his best season after RM). He has a knack for digging himself out of a bad patch. And judging just from March of last season, to May, which was really not that long ago, I don't see why he won't provide more of those moments in the near future.

It is so shocking that some fans are fan boys of some players that are currently playing for us! If you are not a fan of anything related to United, wtf are they on here? To wind those fans up?

Discussing flaws and bad performances is one thing but calling other fans as fan boys. I just can't get around that logic really to attack other fans.

At least, the fans can be put into two groups in sense of who they care the most, fans of manutd and fans of a particular player. Personal attack is not right for sure. Fanboy is probably a borderline word? At least for me, it is not very seriously bad word. But I understand people will feel greatly different, and rightly so.

It is not a serious bad word. That was not my point.

Someone can claim that they care more about the team because they call out players who they think are bad for the club, only to shite on players who have contributed to the club (check Bruno's thread, for instance).

I mean, there is huge bias for and against everyone among fans. But somehow, someone calling others a fanboy of whatever makes them feel better when the arguments run out or go in a circle? I just find it amusing especially when you think about why we are here in the first place, hoping sweaty dudes playing with a rubber ball twice a week in the same shirts do well for "the team' that we cheer on.

Of course, there are exceptions.

Well I do care Man Utd most, but I am always being called as fanboy for Ronaldo (which I don’t deny). I don’t think everything can be so black or white. People can have their favorite club and favorite player at the same time too. To separate fans into two different groups is very strange, and not close to reality.

He’s still goals in him but he needs the service. He needs sancho, rashford and Antony to actively look for him in the box, he will be in the right place at the right time and he will put it away.

Hell to the no, that's when we become a bad team. Notice all these players who got trashed all of last season and the start of this one suddenly have no problem producing in the same attack. Rashford has no problem finding his signature breakaway goals, Sancho, Bruno, they've gotten goals and assists interchanging with the striker. A more equal opportunity attack is preferable.

I don't even rate them that high but it's also clear they are far better when their talents aren't marginalized. Certainly don't need more compilation footage about how poor Ronaldo is some misunderstood genius being brought down by the garbage around him. That rigid striker system would have made more sense when he was a more complete player. What counts as a quality opportunity for Ronaldo today isn't the same. Not worth building around.

That’s how some see it because they can’t accept a different opinion. Most people who want him to play, genuinely feel he can contribute to the team, is that difficult to understand?

You will see some people who simply hate him and want him out even if he could benefit the team, and some follow him wherever he goes and support that team while he’s there. But the majority of people on a United forum will want what’s better for the team. The irrational hatred/love shows itself in a post without need for forensics. In the case of hatred, since he’s a United player, is more tiresome.

I hated the side-eye and shouting he gave Fred and Bruno after they failed some passes. Especially Fred, because he was pressing like crazy to even steal the ball. Imagine if Rashford did the same to him

Can't blame him. That pass from Fred was terrible. He's desperate for a goal to get going.

Poor Ronny. Poor us. Boehly wanted him at Chelsea but Tuchel said no.

I dont know how Fred managed to feck that up. It was such a simple pass. I would be livid too.

Always forget how explosive he used to be. Some of the stuff in this clip is mind blowing.

He was brilliant, from 2006 to 2009 for us I felt a similar level of excitement before every game of that I felt before a Mike Tyson fight in the 90s.

It was a privilege to watch.
