Indeed. The point remains I wrapped my openers asap and my top order soon after while there is great top order talent (openers and 3s/4s) still in play. It's certainly one to learn from for me.

Must say there's some tasty lineups here. My time not so great nowadays so can't play along sadly. Will certainly help with voting.

For those wanting my vote make sure you have a very well balanced team with aggressors in your batting and a pillar or two in there. Have an all rounder at least and 4 main bowlers of which you should have a nice balance of pace and slow bowling. Of course, having bowlers who can wield the willow a bit helps :)

Redcafe cricket drafter The Cat was caught red-handed manipulating the draft tagging system Wednesday morning.

The Cat, 46, was supposed to tag The Red Viper after making his pick. What on the surface looked like a correct tagging turned out to be something completely different.

A sting operation was carried out after whistleblowers warned about The Cat's recent odd behaviour. The investigation revealed that while it looked like he tagged The Red Viper, he tampered with the system and actually tagged himself instead.

What this meant was that The Cat's post triggered the 8 hour time limit for The Red Viper to make his pick but The Red Viper never got a notification about it. Draft rules quite clearly state that when you are done with your pick you have to correctly tag the next player.

Disgraced drafter The Cat is yet to face the media following this scandal but sources close to him say he 'regrets' getting caught.

"Sad day for Redcafe cricket"
Redcafe is coming under fire for failing to take immediate action against The Cat. The governing body said it would send an investigative team to look into all aspects before deciding what action to take.

Calling it a "very sad day for Redcafe cricket," Redcafe.net chief executive Niall said on Wednesday he was "extremely disappointed and shocked" by the news.

"Redcafe cricket fans want to be proud of their cricket," Niall said. "I feel this morning they have every reason to wake up and not be proud of some individuals."

The Red Viper left traumatised
According to his representatives, The Red Viper has been left traumatised following the incident.

"He [The Red Viper] is struggling to understand why he was targeted. He is a victim in this case. We will push for legal action against The Cat," a spokesman said Wednesday afternoon.

Random Redcafe.net user @The Cat broke down in tears during a press conference after apologising for the tempering of the draft tagging system that has resulted in him being the butt of many jokes.

@The Cat who was supposed to tag @The Red Viper after picking the player in ICC Draft instead tagged himself, robbing TRV a chance to pick player.

"I know I will regret this for the rest of my life. I am absolutely gutted. I'm sorry and I'm absolutely devastated,” The Cat said.

To my knowledge this has never happened before. This is the first time I've seen this happen and I can assure you it will never happen again.

"I don't blame anyone. I'm the captain of the my draft team, it's on my watch and I take responsibility for what happened in Caf town today.

"I know I'll regret this for the rest of my life, I'm absolutely gutted. I hope in time I can earn back respect and forgiveness.
 
@The Cat will be banned for cricket drafts for 12 months, you have the right to appeal.
 
The worst thing is I work in IT and I have no idea how I managed to do this.

As a first time offender I would like to apologise and protest my innocence I doubt I could manage to repeat this if I tried.

I am of course ashamed and embarrassed and promise to take more time with my picks.

And I got a real bad cold.

Yeah some days on this seem to take forever, hence the speed draft question earlier on.

I am not going to search for it now as I'll probably somehow delete the thread :nervous:
