Mcdermott
Kumble
Walsh

12th man: Qasim

Why the feck is this frozen? I thought you guys would be down to me and abusing me when i woke up.

I have a slightly surprising pick for my eleventh. Personal favourite. Doubt he'll be rated as high as i rate him personally but given the general standard, he'll be a decent pick.

Isn't MJJ's time up?

TMH is a cnut for taking my first choice second spinner and making him 12 man. Cnut.

Anyway, here is my team:

Anwar
Stewart
Kallicharran
Chappel
Inzamam
Adams
Imran
Yardley
Srinath
Garner
MacGill

Bat till Yardley at 8...

Bowl: 3 quicks, an offie, a leggie and a part-timer. Thoughts?

Still an hour and half to go for MJJ's pick.

Yardley only averaged 20 in Tests. Not sure I'd rate him too much as a batsman.

The middle order of your team is your strongest part IMO. Srinath(who's underrated), Garner and Imran also is a very dangerous bowling attack. Nice team.

Averaging 20 in the early 80s equal averaging 25-30 in the 2000s onwards.. Honestly, when I'm comparing teams, any average from the 70s and 80s and bupming them up to compare, but you are probably right. He definitely isn't a "pure" batsman.

I wanted Qasim instead of Yardley, but TMH took him and put him onn the bench. cnut!

I agree that my middle order is the strongest part. Anwar is a good openner, but Steart is only really there because there were more middle order batsmen than good openners left. That's why I skipped Boucher. Kallicharran, Chappel, Inzy and Adams though..

Right here's my 11th pick and it's a bit of a curve ball so i'll explain. December 87 - the first match I ever saw live. India v West Indies. Walsh was excellent but the bowler who was really intimidating was this awesomely muscular pitch black guy that we'd hardly heard of. Awesomely fast on a wearing fifth day Wankhede pitch, he wiped out the Indian batting - Azhar, Shastri, Kapil. I came away with a lifetime love affair for West Indies fast bowling.

I'll take Patrick Patterson.

Hehe, should have seen that coming. Had him in the list, always had an admiration for him, was scary on his day. Bit too short, the career but looked the business on his day.

I don't know how many times I wanted to just give up and say shut it down during the thing. Feckin frustrating as hell when you have a list of 18 that disappears

I really didn't think all of you guys would be interested. His career was shortlived. His average just about acceptable for the 90s. Only his strike rate shows how effective he was for a short while. Awesomely fast and intimidating at his best.

I'l take gatting. On my phone, someone update the list And pm km plz.

Me and zing considered patterson too, neither of us had seen him and too short a career, werent sure how to sell him.

5 picks before mine. Another personal favourite in the works. This one's not an oddball though so I expect someone might have an eye on him. If so, feck off in advance.

I've messaged KM.

Right I'll take Angus Fraser

TMH is a cnut for taking my first choice second spinner and making him 12 man. Cnut.

G.Greenidge
D.Haynes
R.Richardson (c)
Carl Hooper
Ranatunga
Ian Botham
Kirmani
Alderman
D.Gough

Bit light on the batting I think... Your bowling looks good though.. That middle order of Hooper Ranatunga and Botham doesn't fill me with confidence though - and can any of your tail bat?

That's not going to be the team in all likelihood although that batting should do the job batting conditions. Going to add one more batsman...I think

I think you missed a trick by going for Kirmani in earlier round. There are 2-3 good/decent WK still available who can bat.

It will. But it will look weak compared to the others.. Gough, Waqar, Aldermanm, Mushtaq Botham is class though

Wanted a lower order WK with the opening slots already decided which ruled out Wessels. Original choice was Dujon but he got taken. Taken into context of the time he played in Kirmani was a good WK-batsmen. Have to admit I don't I have any other WK batsmen in my list who stands out batting wise. Well there is one...but wasn't too sure of his reception

It will. But it will look weak compared to the others.. Gough, Waqar, Aldermanm, Mushtaq Botham is class though

Botham was an excellent batsman. Has more hundreds than many recognised players in the draft.
