Inception By Nolan is a bad remake of Paprika.Has there been any live action anime shows/movies that actually did well?

If you count manga to live-action(i.e. skipping the anime step): Edge Of Tomorrow.
That's the only one I can think of, though. As far as anime to live-action goes, I can't think of a single good movie/TV show.
Thems fighting words! Put 'em up, puttem upppp! Or, in your case, spread those wings! It's pretty difficult to make anything good when all of the source material is shit. Bring it on, neckbeards
in all seriousness though, how do you take one of the best character driven animes (imo) and feck it up?Thems fighting words! Put 'em up, puttem upppp! Or, in your case, spread those wings!
Ooo if we're including manga then you surely gotta add Battle Royale and Oldboy for live-action. I am a Hero was decent too.
Battle Royale doesn't count. Yes, it was a manga but the manga was based on the novel itself, which the movie is based on, so Battle Royale is in fact a live-action adapation of a book.Ooo if we're including manga then you surely gotta add Battle Royale and Oldboy for live-action. Edit - Unless we're talking about English remakes only?
I really have no clue, mate. American remakes don't seem to give a toss about what makes a character who they are or why a story gets so many invested in general. You'd have thought that - by now - that just slapping the name of a popular series without putting any care or thought into the actual product would be an obvious no-no, but here we are again!in all seriousness though, how do you take one of the best character driven animes (imo) and feck it up?

Yeah, the novel was out a year or two before the manga, it's a fantastic book too. And the movie itself is my favourite movie of all time, so i'm a big fan.Oh was it? My mistake then
We are on episode 8 of the live action. Watched episode 1 of the original and plan on watching all 26. As usual anime fans are the weirdest crybabies. There is nothing wrong with the live action. It would be impossible to bring every element from a cartoon to live action, but they have done a pretty awesome job.
I'd say no. Other than "Inception" being a live-action remake of Scrooge McDuck, but I guess a Disney comic doesn't count as anime, so all of them have been shit.Has there been any live action anime shows/movies that actually did well?
So you've only ever watched one episode from the anime and are saying the live action has "done a pretty awesome job" of adapting it? How does that work?We are on episode 8 of the live action. How many seasons of the original series? Or was it a movie or both?I hate all anime but loved Cowboy Bebop. Everyone should stay away from this until they've watched the original.
26 episodes, 20 minutes each from the 90s.How many seasons of the original series? Or was it a movie or both?
YupThe concensus seems to be don't bother and watched the anime instead, then?
