All the Young Dudes is not a cover, Bowie wrote that song for Mott the Hoople in the floor of the singer's flat in a few hours.

i know,

it seemed that songs performed by people who did not write them, are being included in the thread.

and its a fecking tune, so i thought why not.

Also bowie does a version too and as soon as he wrote it, techinically it could be thought of as a cover,

but we're not getting pedantic now, (ofcourse) ;)

Bruce Dickinson (of Iron Maiden fame) did a decent cover of All the Young Dudes, on his album Tattood Millionaire..

Muse did a killer House of the Rising Sun too

Aye, tis quality. That vid could do with some up to date pics of them though! Those ones are like 7-9 years old. Muse did a cover of 'Feeling Good' too, it's not one of my fav Muse songs but gotta admit it's quality.

We don't. Just that I'm a true Bowie-maniac. Have seen him live at least 25 times and spent about 8-10000 euros on these gigs. Not to mention I've met him:)

Korn - Word Up isnt bad

tom jones - i bet that you look good on the dance floor

our lady peace - imagine

I think Sting wrote this & I( really liked it on his Mercury Falling album, but Johnny Cash's cover is really cool.. A different style.. The first time I heard the Cash version was in the first episode of the Shield Series 6..

Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World
Tricky - Black Steel
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Radiohead - Nobody Does It Better
Gary Jules - Mad World
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through the Grapevine

Sting 0 - Cash 4. No contest.

FgtH - Born to Run

I understand that a mop-topped quartet from Liverpool named "The Beatles" once did some decent covers (for white boys) of the Isley Brothers "Twist and Shout" and Chuck Berry's "Roll Over Beethoven.
