This may be the one post of yours I agree with in this thread. That ship sailed a good while ago, sadly.
If we get bought by the Saudis, we'd be the richest club in the world and could out spend anyone...even within FFP.
Problem with this though is, we'd continue to be a circus. I do feel our next owners need to be of a business background, rather than a state run background. This way, we'd have more of a chance to have things put in place, whereby we could sustain success on and off the pitch.

Even if it's possible getting a decision made would be practically a nitemare. The CEO in these kinds of ownership won't have a carte blanche to sanction a 100m purchase and rightly so.

We have done that. Buying a car on loan with said cars as collateral. House mortgage is on pretty much same deal. I suspect most business is funded by loans with the business as collateral to be quite common.
But why should any rational people do so? Selling yout assets to buy another assets outright isnt a good business plan.
That particular Saudi family are worse than the crooks who own City - who they bought to portray them and their country in a good light. Don’t think we will ever be blessed with a brilliant owner, but I’d pick the Glazers over that Saudi family any day of the week - they are a bad bad bunch.

I don't. I want my club to succeed the right way on and off the pitch. I don't want players coming here solely because we are tripling their wages, which would be the sole reason that Messi would have moved. Money is undoubtedly a factor but I want players coming here for footballing reasons as well.
I agree with this but I think by us agreeing to pay Sanchez mega wages. Decent players are going to see us as a big pay day and want similar wages, which is a shame.

They poured nothing(in terms of money) in to the club and took out so much, just to pay off something they piled on. As long as the club is on top off the field, there is very little reason for them to sell. It is a cash cow for them.

Just goes to show how stupid fans were back in the day. Even with that support base, we could have bought up enough shares for a trust.

Love United but as an American, I couldn’t support the club owned by the Saudi royal family after their links to funding 9/11. There’s also the ongoing air strike campaign in Yemen which is deplorable and the allegations of killing the WaPo journalist. As many of said, some things in life are bigger than supporting a football club.
The only way I see that changing is if we turn into another Leeds and go into free-fall. Sponsors will jump ship and the revenue stream will dry up. I hope that never happens, of course, but parasites don't usually stay too long on a moribund host.

There's a marked difference between the US using a nuclear bomb during wartime (which I disagree with) and the current Saudi regime.

Bro, nobody is saying that US was right to have used a nuclear bomb. And the Japanese might look all nice and pacifistic now, but they were the China of the first half of the 20th century,with plans to conquer Asia. You can look up their conquests in Korea and the South East Asian region and their war with China. Every country in the world has blood on it's hands at some point in history. That's the reality.
On topic, I just don't want our club to be used as a PR machine for the Saudis or any other country for that matter.
