Could they void the PL due to the Coronavirus? | No | Resuming June 17th

It's not even confirmed that it's a player, could be a stuff member(which is most likely). Morons like these are what most annoying with times like these, always quick to jump on the panic scenario every chance they get.

Why is it more likely to be a staff member then?

With player we'd have known or at least had some type of information or heard murmurs by now, beside it's easy to spot which player isn't in training. It's most likely a stuff member and if they've been following the current safety guideline and social distancing(which they most likely have), the chances of him spreading the virus are very low.

That guy just wanted to sound dramatic and fear monger as it's the current popular thing to do, especially on platforms such as twitter and other social media platforms.

My guess is they do not want to allow for transfers while CL knockouts are played in August for potential of players already known to be joining a club they may face in a CL semi or final.
Clubs can't be stopped from signing players at any time, the transfer window opening means you can now register said player, so if clubs want to sort their business out in the usual timeframe there's nothing stopping them, the only real difference is they will have to wait longer until they're eligible to play for their new club.

Hysteria already, really? Were you all under the impression that they were doing all this testing without any expectation of anyone actually catching the virus?

The whole reason for the constant retesting is so that an infection can be safely caught and prevented from spreading with minimum disruption to the season. I don't know exactly what the PL's plan for this situation is but presumably if it is a player (and it could easily not be) then the squad can isolate for the day or two until the next round of testing. Then if it turns out any other players have been infected they will isolate until virus free, and the rest of the squad can immediately get back to work. It's a three day delay even if they don't get specially tested. It's possible they will be - that a positive test will trigger an immediate retest of the rest of the team in question, bringing the delay down to only one or two days. Either way it's entirely manageable. And we have actual proof of that in the form of the Bundesliga, running very smoothly indeed all things considered.

Also it's just a numbers game. Even with some staff no doubt still furloughed, there will be a lot more non-playing staff working than players.

I take it you haven't seen the idiots at Spurs training then. Aurier and co haven't respected social distancing from day one.

Because potentially a whole team and staff were exposed to the virus and can't train for the next 14 days if it was a player?
The whole point of everyone going into quarantine for 14 days was because they couldn't test everyone so its a precaution if you were exposed. Current protocol is player/staff that tests positive goes into quarantine for 1 week, the rest are fine as long as they aren't positive. So its essentially 1 player being injured.

Would be very funny if half of spurs squad was out for our game.
Makes a mockery of it obviously but could potentially happen.
It would be worth it just to hear mourinho whine about it (assuming nobody has a serious reaction obv)
