Congratulations spain

¡Felicitaciones España!

In all seriousness though, them winning the tournament was almost inevitable since the group stages, and definitely since the quarter finals.

Yep well done.

Great achievement for their manager when you look at their squad player for player.

Thoroughly deserved. Best team by a distance.

theyre also the best around at the ‘dark arts’, which gives them another edge.

It seemed obvious they would win it after the 3rd group game, however tonight England’s most established players let them down in key moments in the game.

Glad that it was Spain rather than France though!

Best team in the tournament by a mile.

They beat all of Croatia, Italy, Germany, France and England.

After 2012 they lost their way a bit but Yamal + Williams given them that extra dimension again. Will be frightening again if a Villa/Torres CF explodes onto the scene in next year or two.

Yep wasted injury time expertly as usual. Cucurella just collapsing after being brushed by Saka one example.

Well done Spain. Beat Germany, France and England on the way so fully deserved. Loved their throwback style throughout the tournament.

England just have to take this one on the chin. The final in 2021 was the one that slipped away. Tonight Spain were deserved winners.

Yeah sitting here looking back I agree. I think our team in the last Euros was quite a lot better. That Italy side was also there for the taking.

Mad stat. Of the 26 finals in the last 23 years between the WC, Euros, CL and Europa League that featured a Spanish team, they've all been won by a Spanish team.

The only time a Spanish team has lost is to another Spanish team.

Spanish team.

Spain deserved it. England stumbled to the final despite a favourable draw.
Absolutely.

That is indeed an absolutely ridiculous stat.

Impossible yet true

As an England fan, I say congrats to Spain. They played football the right way and won. Well done.

like playing with Morata upfront isn't bad enough, they lost Pedri and it's like, no biggie. then they lose Rodri and again, no biggie. you simply have to admire them. they don't even dive like they used to.

Still waste time though. 4 mins of injury time 3 mins was used for Spains free kicks etc. England were poor Kane was poor. Same old England.

Very deserving winners and there is definitely a satisfaction to seeing the best team win. What a run.

Very deserved winners. Clearly the best team of the tournament - and unlike England, they had the hardest thinkable path to the final.

Didn't write them off before the start of the tournament, but they were surprisingly good since on paper they don't look nearly as dangerous as Portugal, France, England, and maybe even Germany on an individual, player-by-player level.

But I'm sure that their history from the Under Euros and their bond with de la Fuente is a big advantage. Given how young the core of the team is they could be a force going forward. They just need a really good number 9 to replace Morata, a good, young center half and replacement for Carvajal.

Well-deserved win for Spain. England would have won it 100% if they had a competent manager instead of the moron like Southgate, however

Definitely deserved it…

Does not winning in xG in two games mean they didn’t deserve it? I don’t think it can be argued that any team was more deserving than Spain over the course of the whole tournament. They played entertaining and effective football.

xG can be misleading as well.Spain went 2-1 up early against France, the xG is going to reflect the fact that France were chasing the game for the majority of it. The German game was a little different, I actually thought Germany were the better side, but they had the home advantage, and again, does Germany being better in this one game mean Spain are undeserving winners?

Beat Germany, beat France, beat England. All in the knock outs. No bullshit from Spain, always good for football when the best team wins.

By far the best team of the tournament and beat Croatia, defending champions Italy, host Germany, France and England along the way. Rode their luck a bit against Germany but on top of being a top side you also need luck to win a major tournament. The definition of worthy winners.
