Congrats to Chelsea....

Of all the championships since 1991/92 where we've come runners-up, I think this is the one where I feel the winning team most deserved it. That's odd since we were only a point behind but I think Chelsea's ability to score shedloads against weaker teams, and the abilty to beat the other top teams, shows what a top side they are. We must improve our team for next season if we're to challenge.

Fair play, congrats to Chelsea. Emphatic and deserved winners

I may not like a number of their arrogant squad, but sometime you need a certain amount (of arrogance) to be champions. Well done!

We need a couple of quality signings to make sure we maintain our challenge next season: Buffon - Villa - Silva (as I'll keep posting until it happens!)

definitely congrats to chelsea...

they didnt make as many mistakes as we did, thus they won the league.

scoring over 100 goals and beating your rivals home and away is enough said...

Congratulations to our resident Chelsea contingent!

I haven't read this thread yet, but hopefully it won't include mentionings of Drogba's offside goal at OT, or Abramovich's money.

You deseserved it.

Can't argue with their triumph really.

If only we'd beaten Burnley....but we didn't, and they could probably point to a few points that they shouldn't have missed out on too.

I'm really proud that we came within one point of a very good Chelsea side.

Refreshing to see some respect shown to your rivals. Chelsea deserved it, they won practically all of their big games and with 100+ goals. People will look to United's missed chances and they should but its only fair to say that Chelsea shot themselves in the foot a few times over the course of the season.

To be fair to one of my Chelsea suporting mates. I got a text when it went to 6-0 saying "remember, it's not all over yet"

Made me laugh anyway.

Could have gone either way but they've done enough to get the results when it's mattered, so you can't really argue they don't deserve it.

You can't really argue with the way they closed out the season. And they beat us home and away.

And scored 103 goals - that must be a record?

Was a tight race that could have gone either way really. Chelsea were very fortunate with huge calls in both our games against each other, and that does make a difference. Still, you have to credit them for coming to OT and taking victory at that stage with the stakes so high, even if it owed as much to a dire United performance as anything

So fair play to them. Hell of a goalscoring season they've had, 103 in all, and 68 at Stamford Bridge in 19 games

When it's not the Scouse, Leeds or City winning the league instead of us, I don't really give a crap who takes it

 I got so much stick when it was 2-0, and I still believed -- 'A corner, a flukey goal. It might happen, you know. And then! Yes! A penalty!'
Then somehow suddenly it was 5-0.
Even I had to admit defeat.

And Livvie, the Burnley defeat is the one I rue, too. :(
I agree we did well, which makes it even more irritating to lose the league by a point. Or the way we went out against Bayern.
Still, I'm proud too.

It is a record, but that and their closing out to the season had a lot to do with playing their last three games against a knackered side, and two who simply lacked the integrity to even bother contesting them.

They deserved it for getting into a position where it was theirs to lose though. We can't say we ever looked like doing that, though we gave it a good go. Whenever they really needed a result they made sure they got it.

The injury to Mikel resulting in Ballack's renaissance as a holding midfielder turned Chelsea into a goal-scoring machine. Slightly lucky the way Ancelotti stumbled on that team, after a few unconvincing results/performances but I guess that's a testament to the strength in depth in their squad.

You certainly can't take anything away from a team that scored so many goals and won all their biggest games. Deserved winners.

Well played Chelsea, over the course of the season they deserve to take the title.

1. They scored over 100 goals - that's no mean feat and some of their football at times was absolutely unstoppable.

2. But the biggest factor for me was, their results against the top teams. They did the double over us, Arsenal and Liverpool this year - that's 18 points from 6 games against the rest of the big four. To be the best you have to beat the best, and they did, so well done to them.

Congrats to Chelsea.

Well done and well deserved, although there was little between us in the end. Doesn't pain me that much either. Partly because it isn't Arsenal or Liverpool and partly because we've just won it three times.

Great team, but what a pack of twats.

Just watching MOTD and seeing Drogba and Lampard fighting over the penalty, resulting in a hissy fit from Drogba. I guess this is what happens when you have a team full of mercenary cnuts who only care about personal glory.

No class.

They deserved it. 103 goals and league doubles over us, Arse and Pool.

Losing to Bayern on away goals is the one that still irks me.

Why anyone is congratulating this shower of mercenaries I don't know.

As said. United have been well below par this season, you only need to look over our results to see that compared to the last few years.

First season without Ronaldo and Tevez. Well done lads.

We are not a hell of a lot different. How many players do we have on our team that have come out of our youth system over the last 5-10 years?

Our best player (Rooney) is a mercenary.

feck Chelsea.

feck Terry. feck Cole. feck Ballack. feck Drogba. feck Gerrard too.

I hope their footballing lives fall apart from this moment.

Definitely well done to Chelsea.

Well done to you guys for lasting so long in a 'transition' (ie first year without ronaldo) year.

[/hugfest]

well done to chelsea...we gave it our all and it went down to the very last game..im proud to be a Manchester United fan..well done to our boys also...

I love this post.

I would congratulate them if they werent all a bunch of complete cnuts and horrible people.

Its all plastic and manufactured anyway, but for a moron of a chelsea fan that wont matter one bit.

cnut chops

Congrats to Chelsea again, started off the season the way they ended it, completely battered West Brom, who never once looked like scoring.

Yeah, that was the real surprise. Obviously we all knew they would win, and by such a big margin, but no injuries or suspensions to any of their main players. The mentality of the team didn't seem to have suffered, and John Terry again was untouchable.

 You had me there for a minute.
