Community Shield 2022: Liverpool v Manchester City 5pm BST 30 July

“Two new alpha males in the premier league pride” dearly fecking me what nonsense.

That look after Haakaku missed. He knows he fecked up and will get the piss ripped out of him. Not sure he knows what he's let himself in for.

I'm always so underwhelmed by City - Pool games. Our friendly against Atletico felt more like a rivalry than this.

Anyone said Hahahaaland yet?

Also, any chance Liverpool put this with their two from last season and call it a treble? They do have previous...

Has someone told Nunez the community shield is a huge important prize to feck with him?
In any case, that celebration was just OTT.

Chicharito scored a go-ahead goal (his very first) against Chelsea in the Shield when we were in a litteral war against Chelsea in those years, but he didn't go bonkers just for that.

And people laughed on here when the dippers bought Nunez, he's better than rasford and martial combined!

On a side note, women commentating on men's football makes me mute my TV, yes I'm sexist and don't care
She was brutal, to be fair it had nothing to do with her being a woman though, she was calling for a penalty if Nunez wasn’t offside even though the other commentator clearly said Ederson got a hand to it.

Dias was dumb with a capital D on that penalty after Alvarez got them back in it. Haaland I expected better from but then that City team were so undercooked.

All the Nuñez hate on here  We really shouldn't laugh at him with the shite bunch of "strikers" we have.
Half the fun of being a United fan is laughing at Liverpool, don’t be so boring.

Last part was so random

These two opinions were made for each other.

The thing is even though Nunez isn’t the most technically gifted. He works ten times harder than Lukaku. Good movement, blistering pace. I can’t see him being a dud in this pool team. He might have been a bad fit for this Utd side though.

Funny, because no one cares about your bigoted opinion.

The commentators made it sound like any striker bar Haaland and Nunez isn't world class...

I know we can't talk but jeez, are they THAT incredible, I know Haaland comes with a big reputation but wonder if they'd gush over either that much if they played for us?

You can’t be serious? He was very good when he came on.

He was not very good and his finishing looks woeful let’s be honest. He works hard, presses and runs between the lines but he’s an £85m striker.

You could get someone for half that money who can actually strike, pass and head the ball.

Think you certainly know how to use someone like him better as a team, but the header for the pen was going miles wide and Dias just watched him walk into the box for his tap in. I think very good is OTT.

You should care. It is not something to be proud on

Yup. They’ll struggling to dominate like they did with the a false 9 because he’s useless at recycling possession. I make Liverpool heavy favourites for the title - especially if Silva leaves.
Early day. I feel it has to do more with City fitness and sharpness level. City has shorter preseason than Liverpool from the amount of games they had played.

KDB noticeably looked spent, and had a mare of performance.

Agree to disagree then. I think he’ll be a very good signing for us. I’m a bit more excited about Carvalho personally though.

Still not convinced by Nunez. Wins a penalty because he misses a sitter then scored a tap in. Also missed another sitter that a top class striker scores with their eyes closed.

85 million quid

Strange how little a pre-season City have had. Think this was only their 3rd game?

It is. Dunno who made that schedule for City even if they probably had matches behind closed doors, but that has to be considered a horrible situation for the coaching staff when the season begins next week.

Karen Carney is objectively a void of charisma but so are like 99% of commentators these days.

Amazon have it right when you can just have the live crowd noise playing. With the technological advancements of screen resolutions, I can see who’s on the ball even on my iPad, let alone a 70 inch TV… so therefore two people talking trite, cliche sentences is redundant to me. I pity the blind who do have to put up with them though.

That's not something to brag about you moron.

City do this every season. Start slow then go on a mega run about 5 games into the season
Yeah they always manage a 10-15 game winning run somewhere in the season. Usually wins them the league.
