How about Big Name as opposed to Lee Bowyer. ;)

emerton is not a winger, nor is d'alessandro. . .overmars is schite and the wrong side of 30 anyway.

besides which, lee bowyer is a more "prominent" player than either of d'alessandro or emerton.

you're not doing very well here, are you. . ?</strong><hr></blockquote>

Blimey, Bowyer has suddenly become the best right midfielder in the world

Undoubtedly, all Liverpool suppoers have been of this view for years, and also thought justice was done when the completely innocent Bowyer was let off by the court

Bit of both..

I'm happy in the fact that he'll improve our team in our quest to overhaul the Arse..

But I think he's a little twat..

Leeds singed him and were stuck with the little Hitler, Liverpool have taken him on with his reputation.
Liverpool are saying that its ok to beat up asian students, as long as you can play football.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Rubbish, in that case what were Man Utd saying when they signed Goram?

Poor answer, be more specific.

Goram was a Royalist, Keane is a republican. If anything Man Utd can claim to have put Ian Paisley & Gerry Adams in the same team, something the brittish governement will never do.
Boywer was and is a racist and general thug (on and off the field). Leeds got a lot of dirt because he was there player and they were stuck with him. Liverpool have willingly taken him on with open arms, two fingers up to the asian fans essentially. Had he been a problem free football player a lot more clubs would have been after him.

Skirting around the issue again, I see.
As far as I'm aware, Keane has no 'alleged' links to any paramilitary groups, Goram on the other hand....

Bowyer is a thug. He may be a good footballer but, a thug anyway. And I don't think he is what Liverpool need - you need more width on the wings. For that Bowyer is not the answer. Duff would have been a much better solution. Bowyer will not be able to give Liverpool the flair and pace and creativity that Duff might. But..I'm happy.

Bowyer is exactly what Liverpool need, he can be our equivalent to Freddie Lungberg.

'more width on the wings' :D

What for?? Your defenders are going to bypass him anyway to hoof the ball to Donkey and Micky!

Is Lee Bowyer that big a name compared to the ones mentioned above? ;) I mean does the mention of bowyer in the team excite pool fans more than say the mention of a d'alessandro?

TBH, I thought Harry Kewell would be the first name on pool's wanted list of wingers, wide men whatever you call them but as of the past few weeks that link seemed to have died down

In terms of playing ability yes it does....

Bowyer is a proven quality premiership player, D'Alessandro can't get into the Bargie team and there are loads of questions as to whether he'd succeed over here..

South Americans tend to fail over here..

Point taken.

I am merely looking at it from the point of giving something different to pool as in flair on the wings eg ability to beat players and put in some neat crosses, not so much on settling well.

This is a bit like the Rio vs Nesta thing amongst Utd fans.
