Colombia - World Cup Darkhorses

They've got such a good team one for the fans to be extremely proud of, I'm pleased for them.

Surely Jackson and Guarin have to play against Uruguay, Guarin was brilliant where as Jackson took his chances where as Teo didn't
I backed Teo for top goalscorer but have to agree, Jackson Martinez didn't score at all during qualification so I could see why he didn't start but surely now Pekerman has to think about starting him.

It's pretty great to see after the horrific football years following the Escobar shooting and the connections between the cartel and football. Feels like they are back. Hopefully to stay.

Loving Colombia - great fans, great women and great football.

Quintero doesn't look particularly impressive though.

It will be interesting to see how they would do against "bigger" teams. Uruguay being their first test, I hope they beat 'em.

I picked them in the poll to win the damn thing, i wont be surprised if they do. Brilliant to watch and peckerman is a great coach.

Have been very impressed with them and should get to the 1/4's no problem... especially as Uruguay won't have Suarez. Their goals were great last night....nobody playing for personal glory; just all about the team! Didn't Pele say they would win the 1994 world cup? Only 20 years off but could seriously happen!

Brazil are going to have hard time against Chile and (if they progress) Colombia. Both teams have looked superb compared to average Brazil.

The best team in the groups ain't gonna win it, though, and Colombia did have quite an easy group.

Still, have been great to watch and hope they mash Uruguay.

they've been a joy to watch, thoroughly looking forward to them vs Uruguay

Quality to watch along with holland, chile and i've been impressed by mexico, hope they smash uruguay.

They hammered Japan who had qualification at stake while playing pretty much their second string side but their depth in squad is really ridiculous when it comes to offensive positions. Brazil will be a big test though, as dire as Brazil have been most of the time I imagine they are going to step it up as tournament progresses. They will have to pass Uruguay, Brazil/Chile and likely France/Germany to reach the final - huge task regardless of quality they possess.

Loving Colombia - great fans, great women and great football.

Quintero doesn't look particularly impressive though.

He's extremely talented and did some wonderful wonderful games, particularly at the beginning of the season. He used to slip out of the bench, play for 20-30 minutes not missing a pass and displaying excellent vision, shooting and skill. We owe about 4-6 points to him alone in his first month in the league. Something not quite right with him though. Every opportunity as a starter he absolutely blundered it, and exactly the same happened here at the World Cup.

Always found it a bit weird that we manged to nick such a talented player from the Italian League for a reasonably low price. He still needs a lot of work to turn that talent into consistent and effective football for his teams.

They have been very impressive so far, excellent team. I'm loving the way they play, their fans and their women of course! Lots of people thought they'd struggle without Falcao but they're doing very well without him so far.

James Rodriguez has been outstanding as well, what a talent he is. Hopefully some of the bigger clubs snatch him up soon.

So with Suarez almost certainly missing out this match, is it a given that Columbia will beat Uruguay? For those of you who are into betting, the bookmakers have priced Columbia at 2.15 which has to be the bet of the last 16 for me.

Can't believe how overrated they are. Very average team outside Falcao (who's injured), Cuadrado & James.

Brazil would destroy them pretty easily.
Still think they're overated? quarter finals and against....guess who.
We shall we see how Brazil deal with the majestic Colombians.
Lets get it onnn

Serious?
Teo might do well when Colombia play home but he cant be ahead of the other striker options they have. He will struggle against the top european based defenders. Ramos, Jackson and Bacca should definitely be ahead of him..
Like I said before the world cup, Guiterrez should never had started, was shocking the whole tournament. To think a mediocre striker was keeping out the other 3 is probs the difference tonight, had Bacca/Jackson started all tournament it would meant there was a different route instead of James. Real shame I reckon Colombia would have nicked it tonight

Terrible terrible decision-making in the final third and on the counter against Brazil. Reminiscent of Ecuador.
