Exactly as I said: saved ourselves for the league.
 
Second 9th place finish in a row, having fallen from the giddy heights of CL football. Wonder if my team has reached the maximum that can be extracted from the current crop of home-grown players, need to bring some more through "the academy".

Bit of a relief because I don't think we did anything of note in the other competitions.
 
Heads need to roll at the Vikings, and they should splash some cash in the interim. Barstewards.

In the big comps now, 3rd place not bad for my second season in the Premier League.

@Dan @AbusementPark and @Samid were the caf representatives this season.

1st Round

@Dan's adventure was a short one and they leave the competition without scoring a single goal.

For what it's worth, I'm totally onboard with pizza being a vegetable as well! It really upgrades the nutritional value of my lunch today (party leftovers, miam! :drool: ).

What can I say? All 4 caf teams were on fire and qualified very easily from this stage.

Group Phase 2

@OptimisedRed was second after 5 matches and the last match against Lazio was a real final. They started well but Lazio turned it around and won the match with a 85 min penalty. Cruel for @OptimisedRed

@LARulz had a terrible start and lost the first 3 matches. There was no coming back from that.

@nimic qualified top of the group. They lost the first match in Barcelona but after that they were unstoppable.

@sebsheep was top after 5 matches and the decisive match was at home. Sadly an early red card might have costed them the qualification. They lost to Monaco and are out. Unlucky.

Hibernian actually had better stats, but 2 early goals decided the final. It was the trophy that was missing for @nimic. Only the World Cup left to conquer.
