Club Sale | It’s done!

Appreciate there is a lot more of Tuesday left in the USA, but we surely have to see an official announcement by midnight for this to be real.

Good to know.

16 years of Glazer gonna sell stories 3 times a year. Even sites running this story are basing it around a sale to raise funds that 'could pave the way to..'

We know the club have been exploring options to pay for the stadium. Maybe they will sell. They're not fairies though. The idea they might doesn't die if you don't believe it hard enough.

There was something else mentioned not long ago, not those stock market share sales. I’m sure Knight or whatever his name mentioned it in some interview he gave upon speaking to them about buying the club. He was offered a stake in the club but no actual power.
Never believed Michael Knighton not after he said he was buying us back in the 90's and even did the kicking the ball on the pitch thing.

It's all going off today!

Had a quick look and there was a huge pop on the news (which is expected when something like this is announced).

It's traded within a range since the news originally popped and went as low as 12 on the earnings report, but it's held strong, which suggests they've been in negotiations with 3rd parties the entire time but they obviously have to sign a 'do not disclose' agreement beforehand. This is probably how SKY got ahold of the news also, someone is trying to force their hand into a sale on the low side.

Thanks for this!

Hopefully some official news soon!

How many individuals able to drop billions of dollars on a football club are going to be normal blokes?
Who knows, but Musk sits at the top of the loony tree that's for sure.

The INEOS guy seems sane at least.

But his comment was more along the lines of, I will never buy any football club ever, it doesn't make financial sense.
He already owns one!
He said this;

“They don't want to sell it. It's owned by the six children of the father and they don't want to sell it.
“If it had been for sale in the summer then, yes, we would have probably had a go following on from the Chelsea thing, but we can't sit around hoping that one day Manchester United will become available.
“We have an exciting sporting franchise [Ligue 1 side Nice], but the one thing we don't have is a Premier [League] team.
“The most popular sport in the world is football and it is the sport we were brought up with and it's the one most close to us. We really should have an asset in the sporting franchise.”

So it's clearly not cut and dry. I reckon if their is a deal to be done, he'd try and be part of a consortium involved in a takeover of United. He supports the club, so it wouldn't be surprising.

I just want an owner who isn't terrible at running a football club, doesn't espouse absolutely abhorrent social views and isn't actively involved in human rights violations. It's a very low bar.

So what time do we reckon the statement comes at, 9pm, 10pm (UK time). Stuff this big always comes at a rounded time.
Nah, it will be American time so probably middle of the night for us. Assuming there is any statement, I'd be massively surprised.

I really hope the buyer is Jim Ratcliffe. Has significant means, seems to care about the club, and last thing I want is an insane egomaniac like Musk or to be the play thing of an Oil State.

For the perfect hat-trick we need the Glazers to announce that they're buying Liverpool.

True enough. And yet I've still got very little confidence that we'll get someone who ticks all three boxes. Ratcliffe seems like the best option and his record at Nice seems mixed.

Why this needs a statement anyway?
"We are looking for business partner. If you are interested, call now this number 0897655765"

"First 5 callers will get free Man Utd shirt"
