Can we assume from this that Jassim and INEOs are the only two bidding outright/majority stake and the other bids are investors/minority stake only?
I vaguely understand how one bidder might miss the deadline. But how did both?

And here's the rub. The Glazers are chasing a humongous price. They will keep pushing back any artificial deadlines set until they are certain the interested parties won't go any higher.
It would not be a huge shock if we learned that the bids actually had gone in, yet the Glazers decided to act like they hadn't just to try and squeeze a bit more out or entice a gazumper in.
All this talk of six to eight offers. Where were these guys when Richard Arnold was showing Sheikh Jassim's team and INEOS around? This is all a Glazer charade to try and dupe someone to putting a stupidly large offer in.
So the Hedge Funds have made their bids. The Glazers NDA has really protected them through this process, the Rickets who got chased away from the Chelsea process would have had no problems buying united.

Because they didn’t leak their arrival to the sun in advance? The two bidders that have gone public have decided to do so for a reason. It really isn’t outside the realm of possibility that bidders are keeping quiet at this stage.
While these are good questions, I'd also be surprised if there were only two parties interested in one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, maybe the others just got sent the relevant financial rather than travelling to Manchester, can't imagine that would be too hard to accommodate

I'd expect if there are 8 bids then at least z few will be americsn hedge funds, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one other middle Eastern bid, that doesn't want a public pissing contest with Qatar and are staying anonymous for that reason.
If it wasn't for this drama, there'd literally be no news on United, since speculation on transfers is frozen at the moment.

Someone would have been papped, a newspaper would have paid a cleaner or a steward some cash for a scoop, it'd be doing the rounds in Manchester after people who work at the club discussed their working day with friends and family.
There are no other bidders. All this talk of eight other bidders is, to me, an obvious bluff to get Nine Two and/or INEOS to chuck a couple more zeroes on their bids.
Hopefully Raine aren't as much of a prick about granting the extension as my lecturer in college was when I asked if I could hand in an assignment a day late to go to my aunt's funeral.

We've all been fans of this club long enough to know when stuff happens everyone hears.
There are tons of people who work at United, who are diehard fans and they talk. They don't go blabbing. But word gets out.
People know who's been let into Carrington. People know if suddenly a group of people checks into the Radisson or something. Word gets around town.
There has been nothing. Unless United is being bought by the CIA, how the hell did eight delegations get in and out for deep dives without anyone knowing?
