There is specific clauses in contracts to stop or make it less likely for certain players to join a club, City have a few for some of the youngsters that have moved on, if you can move them to another club then back its wide open to abuse, not suggesting this was the case in that scenario but it easily could of been.

Haha maybe, but that's another discussion. It just seems to be an easy slur for people with a certain ethnicity, and in this case it's not one that stands up to much scrutiny.

He's a real person, it's just that its not really his money and therefore not even his decision-making or his intent. But we still don't know in clear terms whose intent it is to buy the club and what they want to do with it. I know everyone will point to the statement, but the issue with the statement is it appears to begin with a falsehood when it says "Sheikh Jassim" as its first words.

Regardless of what the public statement said, do you not think a £5bn purchase will take alot of compliance? If no one knows where the money is coming from, they would have never made it past the 1st stage.
Proof of funds would be required to buy an asset that big, otherwise the club would not be wasting its time preparing presentations and time on a buyer that is unknown and doesn't have the funds.
There are alot of clubs that are owned by the same owner. INEOS wanting to buy United whilst owning Nice.
I am sure the Watford owners own clubs in Italy and Spain too.
I'm sure there will be no problems for them proving they have the funds. But Sheikh Jassim and probably not his father either will have £5b-6b sitting in an account. The money will probably be coming from another source.

If Jim buys the 69% stake for sale through Raine, then the Glazers have no shares left.
They can, of course, try and buy up some of the remaining 31% on the open market if they still want a stake, assuming that the new owner doesn’t decide to push for 100% ownership and take United off the stock market.
I'm also not doubting that they've proved source of funds. Raine and the Glazers, and anyone else who has to at this point knows who is actually behind this. I'm just commenting that the public doesn't, and that that's an issue in terms of evaluating what their bid actually means/intends.

Just a minor difference that he is paying to buy rather than being paid to buy. The analogy is the total opposite.
