The Qatari Mark Goldbridge is certainly enjoying the attention

Couldn't agree more, great post. I was 10 when the Sky thing was happening and didn't have a clue what was going on and wasn't very educated until a bit later on the topic. But you make great points.
let me repeat for the 2657th time in this thread, we're not being bought by the UK government
If the Premiership bosses want to remain ahead of the likes of the Spanish, Italian, and French leagues they need owners with deep pockets to purchase our clubs. The Premiership need owners who can afford to buy the best talents the world has to offer to stay ahead of the game. The money and sponsorships will follow the best products on offer. The financial success this will bring also trickles down to other clubs all the way down the football pyramid and keep our leagues competitive and interesting.
To summarise, the deep pocket scenario will not just benefit United (which is mostly my concern as a fan) but general footballing finances in the UK.

Love is love. All red, all equal - the only message the club should be associated with.
I don't see that changing. I've not come across any of the following at City, PSG, Fulham, or Newcastle.
Not seen LGBTQ+ fans ejected or treated differently.
In several windows the Glazers backed the club and United had the biggest overall spend in the the league. They’ve had LVG & Mourinho as managerIn the last winter window he backed the club and Nice had the biggest overall spend in the league.
He has had Viera and Galtier as manager, somebody who was coveted on here when Ole left, and as pointed out it was never a pump in stupid money type of project.

Take it to the appropriate thread. For some of us supporting Manchester United is not above principles and morals.
And if you were someone close to me I'd tell you to give your head a hood wobble...
Selling out and ignoring the atrocities that the Qatari rulers are responsible and stand for in the name of trophies and transfers is pathetic.
I’m guessing like all media they choose people who sided with themLet me guess? Right wing views from the Manchester United Conservative Party?
Or did we have a debate with mixed views like on here?
Good Post.
I don’t get what all the fuss about Qatar is.
…Football is better when you stick to football, or you’ll get your mind in all sorts of bother.
I am old enough to remember the failed takeover by Sky. Back then all hell went loose (both by United and non United fans) because of Sky's owners and the advantage United would have over other clubs. Guess what? Worse owners bought rival clubs and the criticism was timid at best. Not only that but when these clubs became better then we are through unfair means they had the audacity to laugh at our misery. So unless there's a blanket ban on clubs being owned (not just bought) by oligarchs/state on a global scale then I don't give a feck about who owns us. I don't want my club to be running the race with one broken leg and I am certainly mature enough to make a clear distinction between the club and its owners.

Completely disagree with your viewpoint but appreciate the honesty.
This thread would be far less of a shit show if people just admitted they couldn't give a feck about having shady as shit owners as long they dump piles of cash on our doorstep. Instead of getting twisted up trying to justify it from any other angle.
People like you would tell Marcus rashford to “stick to football” instead of feeding poor children. Mind in all sorts of bother indeed. Have a word with yourself.
You may not give a feck, but I do. Manchester United is not above my personal beliefs, morals and principles. I don't care if we win another trophy in my lifetime but I care if the club is owned by dictators.I am old enough to remember the failed takeover by Sky. 100% correct. Not something I look forward to but something I will do if that acquisition happens.Since you feel so strongly about it; I guess you have only one choice then without coming across as a 1st Class hypocrite -- stop supporting the club if the Qataris buy up United. You really dont have a choice do you? Unless you have some spare billions in your pocket?
Short of that, you are just virtue signalling.
Please inform us of these atrocities the Qatari rulers are responsible for
And then at the same time take a look at the atrocities that the UK is responsible for and still benefits from to this day
And then give your head a wobble, yourself
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ls-for-end-to-anti-gay-laws-and-lgbtq-welcomeThere are select groups that have given more acceptance but that is a direct contradiction to the doctrine.

EXACTLY. The mental gymnastics are flimsy, and transparent anyway.
Is there a click saying it’s the Qatar royal family buying us?Here, read https://www.amnesty.org/en/location/middle-east-and-north-africa/qatar/report-qatar/
I guess that was just two clicks too far for you to find.
I do not want the UK ruling family to own Manchester United too.
And whataboutism doesn't work on me. Good try.
As long as we are owned by a country that treats women and gay people as second class citizens, i will think we have gone from having the worst owners in sport, to losing our soul. Wins will not mean as much, and we will be no better than teams we have spent a decade bitching about. What are you going to do if the Qataris win the bid and owns United?
Google is your friend. (hint: the one reportedly heading the bid is part of the ruling family)Is there a click saying it’s the Qatar royal family buying us?
Is there a click saying it’s the Qatar royal family buying us?
Yeah, this is far away from happening, is it?
If the Glazers weren't happy and didn't believe they could get what they want, we'd have heard by now that these bids have been rejected.
