Level of manipulation is epic. Oh this thread, it is the saddest thing for long time. Between shills, rival fans, and plastic craven 'fans', without any sense of what the club is about. They want Mbappe, ffs. It's especially depressing because it was just starting under ETH to be about football again, wonderful exciting, team football. It had somehow seemed to shift away from being out and out commercial, as LVG observed. Maybe it was because they wanted to sell, and thus needed some results to boost the shares. Who knows?
I am not naive, I hope, I always had a kind of positive feeling about the Caf; there was a kind of learning curve in the fanbase, there was the mods who kept things in check and kept up standards. And there was humour. There was still, now and again, flashes of some of the soul of Manchester United. The soul is still there; you can feel it at matches, as you walk down to the ground, and chat to people. And not just local people, people from all over the world. It is there in the players, in Bruno and in the likes of Rashford these days, people happy to run themselves into the ground; you know it means more than money to them. It means something to a lot of people.
On the PR front these days, its super intense, as might be expected; so much money at stake. The pretend game of 'the Glazers might stay' is a PR strategy designed to make the Quatar bid more palatable for United fans. That is all. Who knows what will happen, but if the Quataris come in, the vibe around Old Trafford will not be pretty.
On a positive front, good statement from MUST. But I admit it. I feel like a man shouting in a storm.
Still I will shout. No. No. No. No to state ownership for Manchester United FC.
