I think it will be much sooner than a few years. This bid seems to be a way to get his foot in the door, satisfy fiducial responsibility towards the minority share-holders, stack the board, set him up as a Class B share holder, and open up the door for him to purchase Glazer shares once he's approved by the Premier League.
It wouldn't surprise me if he's majority owner by 2025.
Yup, and with the change to the class B rules he can easily buy out the four Glazer siblings who want out, and there's nothing Joel and Avram can do to stop him.

“300m of investment to follow” no one purchased in january. wouldn’t have happened under jassim.

Don't want to see it announced today anyway. It shouldn't be in any way associated with 6th Feb. Imagine if the shareholding went really badly and it was forever associated with the same day.
Yeah I wouldn't expect the announcement on a poignant day like today. Ratcliffe is switched on enough to understand that
Depending on SEC and/or NYSE disclosure rules, their hands may be tied here.

Some sources speculate its because Ten Hag isn't seen as a long term option, and any transfer budget is being held for his successor...

This stadium news is fairly exciting. It pretty much confirms INEOS are going to be at the very least majority owners and sooner than we’d think.

Regardless of whether it's ETH or someone else, I don't think recruitment under INEOS is going to continue to be manager-driven.

Jassim wouldn't have been ratified and wouldn't have been able to bypass FFP. He also was not the grand owner everyone imagined him to be...

we can only go by the facts. sir jim = bought no one. jassim = bankable promises.

There isn’t a Director Of Football or Head Of Recruitment in place yet so why spend money if the structure isn’t in place ? We’ve seen what happens when ETH or Murtough are allowed to spend on what they want, I’m glad we didn’t waste money on panic buy signings without a plan in place.

a lack of a director of football or a head of recruitment didn’t stop napoli from buying maradona.

People actually falling for low effort rimaldo bait

Are you all new to the Caf?

I know the more cynical will say it’s just gestures to get people onside but the gestures matter. The Glazers have shown disrespect by their absence from important events for many years and it’s good to see SJR and his team at this memorial service. It’s important culturally and a welcome change.

Absolutely. I was against SJR as it meant that the Glazers got to stay, but he's doing all the right things so far.
Hope he'll be the start of a new and stronger club.

Agreed. It matters.

I thought that referred to the investment in the facilities and not in the squad. But anyway, FFP constraints exist, we can't just splash the cash.

Holy crap, just realized this thread went over 100k already.

And Ratcliffication is now a word
