I hope Jimmy’s team gets a hold of all sporting decisions, finally hire a football director who leads the football side of things, and can start rebuilding in January.

For Ratcliffe’s this is a legacy project, so I’m hoping he goes all in with this.

I prefered Qatar, but hopes Jimmy takesus out from this deep fall, organices the sporting side of things, eventuallybuys out the leeches, and clears the debt. If he is really a fan, that’s what he must do.

Francesco Farioli will obviously be at the top of the list if he does well, and I wouldn't be disappointed with that; his set-up is quite obviously De Zerbi-influenced, but it appears to be defensively a bit more solid. There is still a long way to go in the season for them, however, but a very promising start.
 
Being reported that the deal will be sealed soon.

We're about to become the biggest club in the world with zero ambition outside of making the most money possible through commercial deals and player sales through an emphasis on buying up cheap young, promising but unproven players to sell for a profit to ambitious clubs that actually want to win things. I guess that will make the section of the fanbase happy that we're no longer buying proven quality players and we start making money in the transfer market.

Whatever quality players we do have or would want in the future will prefer to join clubs that have ambitions to win things. No other reason for this sporting structure or reason to accept such a proposal unless the Glazers can see it making them more money. What this club needed was a change of ownership. The fanbase has been sold this PR for weeks now that the reason for Utd's struggles is that we don't have a director of football or a footballing CEO - a convenient cover story for the Glazers. Not saying we don't need those things because it would certainly help but not with the mishmash of a board of greed we're heading towards. You'll also notice there's crickets on the path to full takeover talk too.

A lifeline for the Glazers and a disaster for the club.

A change of getting a new DOF and recruitment structure in place would be enough progress for now. Managers deciding transfers has been the biggest issue for the club imo. There are other problems but changing that would be a big step in the right direction.

This is what I’ll be keeping a close eye out for, when this deal is finally announced it better be set in stone that Ratcliffe will complete a full takeover in the next 3-5 years or else nothing will truly change. I’m all for INEOS taking control of the sporting side of the club straight away and that may improve things in the short term hopefully but the end goal ultimately has to be these parasites fecking off once and for all. The one thing that gives me hope is surely Ratcliffe wouldn’t be daft enough to hand 1.5 billion over to this lot for a measly 25% stake without assurances in writing that it’s the first step to majority ownership down the line.

Do we constantly froth at the mouth for updates as fans?

Like why does there HAVE to be an update on a route to full takeover?

What more can they say, than what’s already been said? That the 25% will be a route to full takeover after a number of years. Are we going to have this every month for the next several years?

Update?! Give me an update!? Anyone got an update!!!!!

It’s rhetoric like this which forces journo’s like Fabrizio Romano to put out non update updates cos fans constantly thrive for their next buzz of an update

I agree. It will take time to see change. But i at least hope we will start to see what looks to be smarter signings. Mitchell signing Son for Spurts and Mane for Southampon. Want to see signings like this, rather than the already established names who seem to get picked beause they look nice for our kit launches.

That doesn't mean they will all work, most transfers don't.

Not sure if that will be the case. Vieira was not recruited by INEOS at Nice. He had 18 months post the takeover before he was let go of. That was after a run of five losses in a row in all competitions including getting knocked out of the group stage of the Europa League

Same with his story about INEOS meeting Joel Glazer last week. That wasn't reported anywhere, but he stated that he knew it happened.

Feels like BS.

Come on man!! You’re not listening. I said until the summer. This is an interim appointment. He would get us to 4 with ease. Don’t tell me about wrong profiles non ETH players are currently playing in this crisis and we have about 11 players that would love to play counter attack and protect the middle football.

I’m sure you can list a line up that would work

The latest rumours suggest an announcement of Ratcliffe's investment during the international break and if true, a path to a complete takeover should also be known if it exists or not.

Nothing more can be rumoured about it, but fans are understandably anxious to know the future of their club after 18 years of dire Glazer rule.
 
No reason to have any confidence in the ownership qualities of Ratty and the doping guru, but at least hiring Mitchell and Blanc would be a good start to giving the most important jobs to people who have the requisite experience in the role. After the murtough, Arnold, Woodward era

Doubt that there is any such thing as a route to complete takeover.

Would be very difficult to write into any agreement at this stage, and I doubt Sir Jim can afford us anyway - otherwise he’d buy 100% now.

Been following him for a while, by far the most well informed account on Twitter. He's been saying that INEOS are favourites for about 5 months. He's also very reliable when it comes to transfers so I wouldn't dismiss this.

Whoever you are, you are 100% correct. The Glazers could agree to contractual language that would require Jimmy to buy the club at a particular strike price, but there is no way the Glazers would agree to language that would compel themselves to sell their remaining stake in the club at a strike price less than the insane valuation that at least we believe they are holding out.

There is no easy ride for Jimmy or anyone else looking to buy the club now or in the future. We rightly flog the Glazers for mismanaging the football operations of the club but they are not mugs and there is no chance Jimmy will pulling their pants down to the ground with fine print to be activated in the future.
 
Why is everyone now saying there’s going to be no full takeover route?

Journos who broke the 25% story at the time all said it was with the full takeover route otherwise he wouldn’t be paying so much for 25%

Personally believe he regurgitates what is being said on twitter or on forums like this.

The announcement next week story came from Sky Sports, yet on the Muppetiers show on YouTube, he will use phrases like "im being told that" like he is ITK. No, you saw it on Twitter! Just say "Sky are reporting that...."

The belief was always that Joel and Avram wanted to remain in because they believe in their % being worth more in 10 years. The other 4 siblings wanted out.

We know that INEOS offered 69% for all of The Glazer stock, so one assumes that there is more than $1.5bil (25% valuation) available.
 
If you believe that a 25% investment which allows the investor to take charge of the football operations of the club will be done by Monday, then I’ve got a bag of nothing to sell you

That cuts both ways. Ratcliffe also isn't going to put himself in a bind. Especially if he is going to be putting in a rumored $300mil towards infrastructure investments. That would make no sense if it led to The Glazer's shares being worth more, thus costing Jim more.

Who knows how this will all work. Maybe we never get to find out, but in M&A deals or takeovers, there can be Put & Call options put into a contract. They give either a seller an option to sell at a later date or a buyer an option to purchase at a later date. There could be options put on The Glazers remaining shares. The price for the put and call may be the same, given Jim is going to be investing into the company to the tune of $300mil.

I will wait for anyting on club sale matters from BBC or other reliable sources.

I'm not saying it's the route I'd take, but the poster suggested him till the summer only. Not as a long term project. I don't think he'd be interested in that, unless it came with the caveat that he would stay on if he got things to click. All I'm saying is its not without its merits, especially when posters are suggesting sticking with Ten Hag for anther year or two minimum.

This bit gets me, how is he paying a premium for something that's supposedly worth 6b + when he's paying 1.5b for a quarter?

That's right. Neither Ratcliffe nor the Glazers will put themselves in a bind. And by all accounts it seems that Ratcliffe will not pay over the top for the club. And by all accounts the Glazers will not accept anything less than over the top, so to speak, for the club.

Yes no one knows, but this minority share gambit seems almost the worst of all worlds. It's just really hard to imagine how Ratcliffe under the arrangement we have read about will actually result in improved performances on the pitch. It's unimaginable that the Glazers will allow Ratcliffe operational control of the club under the circumstances.
