About the 10th biggest club in France who haven't won a title since 1958 in the 5th biggest city in France. There not exactly massive in terms of french football.

You don't need nor want a "massive" club if you want to compete and finance the club, it's fairly irrelevant because you would end up giving more money to the former owner in order to purchase the club. What you want is a club in a large city, with an history that is strong locally, which is the case for Nice, you also want a club with recent infrastructure so you don't have to invest in it and "waste" money early. Which leaves you with a top three in France that is Lyon, Marseille and Nice, Marseile is complicated to manage and Lyon was way more expensive though they probably had better infrastructures.

As i was told on here earlier that is a conspiracy theory. For the life of me that how the world turns round.Educated conmen out there everywhere making folk believe a bloody sprayed transfer on the wall is worth millions to the " a guy is just of the phone said he will take the banger motor car for £500 so its 500 or nothing. The Glaziers are no different and may just be using Sir Jim as a lead pony. The Glaziers aren't good people for United so don't expect them to be fair in business either. Sure someone conned us on Maguire, probably told Woodward Chelsea's offered 75m and 180g a week to squeeze everything out of us. Its everywhere unfortunately.

You're making Sir Jim out to be a right dunce. He's most probably a better businessman than the Glazers, he knows how the games are played.

Knowing United, we will get a news today that Ratcliff is the preferred bidder.

How is a foreigner allowed to own a whole hotel in the UK? Guess Brexit didn't really mean Brexit

Jokes aside, a few years ago Hamad Al Thani was described as the man buying London.

There’s no way Avram Glazer flies over to the UK to watch a women’s football match. I think we’re very close to a decision one way or the other!

NEITHER are in the transfer tier list so I would take these or any upcoming tweet quoting them with a HUGE pinch of salt.

Any ideas @mazhar13 ?

All parties has signed a NDA and as long as we haven’t seen a public statement from the Raine Group the bidding process is still ongoing until it’s 100% closed by a legally binding contract.

Most if not all journalist has zero connections with those who make the key decisions and that specifically includes SJ and the Glazer siblings. Whenever the deal is closed a public statement will be published by the Raine Group before any media organization or journalist will be informed. There’s 6B reasons why none inside the inner circles will leak any information before the deal is finalized. Just so we clear that up.

I’m not going to speculate better or worse but like many others has mention it will probably finally comes down to pride and not losing face.

How does one “prepare a bid” Anyway?

”Okay, I’m gonna bid £6b. Here it comes…. Brace yourself, Rodney….”

”It’s coming….. Uhnnnn….”

He can’t compete with Lens and Marseille? he’s about to enter his 5th season with Nice what the feck is he doing if they’re mid table at this point? The French league is poor. Lacazette is currently the leagues second top goal scorer with 25 goals he was washed up in the PL years ago.

The French league is shit. I’m not having any excuse why a multi billionaire who wants to own United and compete in the hardest league in the world can’t at least get in the mix for a Europa spot in France

I don’t buy your Swiss opinion either. How badly must it be run that he can’t even keep a club in that semi-pro league with his backing? something isn’t right with Ineos owning sports teams they’re awful at it.

Yeah that's one of my reservations as well, even from a business point of view, you'd think spending 150-200m and turning them into the second best side in France would pay dividends from being a regular champions league side and thr extra TV money and match day revenue that would come from it, would be a no brainer

If I remember right, Chris Wheatley at least used to be an Arsenal reporter. Not sure what his reliability would be like for Manchester United news.

No idea on the other dude.

United specialise in preparing a bid for players, why not owners?

Good question, ask anyone working in the transfer department for United. We're expert's at 'preparing' bids for players so If the source is reliable Jassim is going to fit right in here.

Are we still pretending this tit knows anything?

I think he does have sources, he was one of the first to disclose that Qatar’s bid was actually less than 5b, and that the investment of 0.8m was part of that overall bid.

Obviously it entails preparing all the paperwork required to launch bids for potential multi billion pound transactions

“One of the first”. Loads of aggregators follow the right people and are the second and third people to repeat the stories. It doesn’t mean they have sources.

But SJ team cleared up that the investment wasn’t part of the bid

It’s not just the sum of money you are prepared to offer. For a transaction of this size there will be conditions attached.

What gets me is the way he says he understands it’s a red herring… realistically, how would he have got that information? If it was a red herring, who’d have known about it? To get that information and so quickly would mean he’d have to be randomly very very close to Avram Glazer, and even in the 10000/1 chance that that were true, why would Avram Glazer let on to his journalist friend that it’s just a red herring and he can tweet it?!

I think he’s probably right. But it’s common sense that Avram is money mad and will play any trick to get more money, rather than his info

Exactly. His inside info shtick breaks down with the smallest amount of critical thought but hey! He works in Qatar don’t you know?!

It's journalist wording so they can hedge their bets when they don't really have a clue.

Literally none of the bids so far have been disclosed. There has been a little information supposedly leaked about each and that’s it.

Honestly this guy knows feck all, he’s another football astrologist wanker.

Yeah bud weird he said that. It would also have to be disclosed to the SEC if the deal is agreed.

He was the first.

5:00

Ben even had the caveat that it was what he was hearing from a source, and doesn’t mean it’s correct. He was later found correct ofcourse.
