Imagine if this goes on all the way up till the summer window. ETH will be stuck in transfer limbo.

You are absolutely certifiably the most clueless tool on this forum. You were put right by many posters about Andy last time you attacked him. Dunno what the problem is but Andy is one of a few United journalists with integrity who deserves the respect of the fan base.
Ignored the one you've replied to, but understand what he's likely said.

I feel the need to remind everyone that the poster in question thinks the Glazers have a genuine attachment and bond with the club

Just disregard anything he says. He's either a kid or just very, very detached from the United fan culture wherever he lives

Alarm bells should be ringing but for a lot of people they aren’t. The state of Nice is a joke
Whilst I take your point, the only way that Nice and Man Utd are comparable is that they are both football clubs, other than that, different leagues, fanbase, heritage, turnover, market share, infrastructure ... and on and on.

SJR is no mug when it comes to business, that is a big understatement, I have no worries about him running man utd a lot better than the Glazer's, will it be perfect, I doubt it, but also cannot see that it will be the catastrophe some predict.

A lot of people are worried that SJR/INEOS in it for the profit, well first thing would be to make us profitable again, so that would be an achievement, then if they believe they can get a return on the investment of X billions, well they will have done an amazing job TBH, the only way that is going to happen is by them making the club consistently successful for a lot of years, even if they think to sell again they will have had to have stabilised and made significant progress and investments.

Don't get me wrong there are different things about both bids which give me pause, but SJR tanking the club is not one of them.

Yeah much as I want Jassim to take over there is no way I would bring a Qatar flag to game

If Qatar buy United, you can bet the farm there would be more of this, as would United's brand being linked to anything bad the Qataris do, whether related to migrants or otherwise.

He should be ignored.

Andy Mitten thinks De Gea should be given a new contract and be #1 next season. Not directly relevant but it's typical of his judgement on all things football related - very poor.
Andy thinks that Striker and CM are still higher priorities than GK for this transfer window and I agree with him.

The French league should be easy to establish a top 4 finish after 4 years there’s no way being mid table can be seen as any sort of success, I can throw the argument that if they can’t get a club competing against Clermont Foot in what world do they know about competing in the PL?

His Swiss team was relegated last season by the way. Funny that on the Ineos website they still have them labeled as a super league a year after relegation.

Thank you. I was doing a bit of work, and was going to come back to this to look up Harris' tweet.

Yes, the second tweet there says that Jassim's people say they won't use that, it's all his money. Well of course they will say that, won't they, if they're trying to convince people that it's not a state bid?

The fact that loans are also listed as a possible source of funding should also raise flags to the "Ratcliffe can't afford it and would need debt to buy the club" crowd.

You posted about fires at INEOS plants trying to compare that to the migrant worker scandal in Qatar. Working with petrochemicals, fire is probably an occupational hazard. It was a stupid comparison that needed calling out. It wasn’t a personal thing, I have no problem with you in that regard.
No problem. It wasn’t a competition between both sides for me. It was more about putting on show both buyers dirty laundry. Yes you’re right that it’s not comparable. But compare INEOS to myself. I have never put anyone in danger, injured, put toxins in air, kill the earth etc. He does this to make money. Compared to me and most people, Sir Jim is a wrongun.

The worst thing I’ve probably done is call someone a cnut on redcafe.

Why should it be easy? On what grounds? After PSG the clubs who are often found competing for top 4 spots are hardly minnows of the game, some are in fact huge clubs in their own right so this idea that it should be a given that a club can just waltz into the top 4 because it's France seems odd.

All we know about France is it takes about €2billion to mostly dominate the league. Beyond that, seems pretty competitive.

Anybody serious with money should be able to walk into the French European spots. Lens are second ffs.

Nice have lost 3 of the last 5 and are on the verge of dropping to the bottom half of the table are you arguing after 4 years that’s good ownership?

Do you look at that record, plus his Swiss teams relegation and think ‘bring it on’?

You forget those ventures are just vanity projects/practice runs and it's only the United ownership he and Ineos ever cared about.

Reckon he’ll appoint his cycling guru to a high position within OT? I do.

Brailsford and Toto Wolff if we're very lucky. A super team from all corners of his sporting empire.

Forget Nice, I'm just asking why you think it's a given that a club should just be able to walk into top 4?

Beyond PSG you still have Marseille and Monaco often up there in recent years. Then there's a host of clubs that seem to rotate year on year. At the same time you can very quickly go from the top end of Ligue 1 to the bottom as Bordeaux and St Etienne have found out. Monaco as well only a few years ago.

To bring it back to Nice, if we take the wage bill as an indicator of where a club should be, then this season they are underperforming. But in previous years they've been on par or slightly overperformed in relation to their wage bill.

And honestly, this might be controversial but nobody cares about the Swiss leagues.

It quite clearly says one or more of the following, nothing to see there. We'll never get the evidence to prove what we all know.

Everyone knows. Which is why they're all surprised the state hasn't given the Glazers a blank cheque(are cheques still a thing?). But again, they still may or may not make an improved offer. I could be wrong but they'll give the Glazers what they want. Or there'll be a compromise. Then again Ratcliffe is in pole position and he might just do it. Or he may not.

I mean, if environmental concerns are your biggest issue, the there has always been a third option available. Keep the Glazers in full control.

Environmentally speaking, they're significantly better than both Ineos and Qatar.

im not part of the morale police, I’m full sale only unfortunately.

You could very well be right or wrong there, only time will or won't tell.

Also, a better way to measure success in France is whether or not the ground has been burned to the ground.

Thanks to @JPRouve for this one

I was about to report you for the lulz but then I saw who you quoted.

He is always banging on about speaking to these wonderful 'sources' and 'contacts' he supposedly has but he hardly ever puts pen to paper and gets exclusive breaking news like Whitwell or Ornstein. Funny that.

He's a BS artist. No better than those bizarre Qatari twitter accounts you see posted here sometimes.

If you want to put your money where your mouth is, I can put you in touch with Andy and you can make your accusations to him personally. I won't hold my breath though, the last guy who was sounding off about Andy like this, decided not to show up after I put them in touch.

I'd love to know what Ratcliffe and Jassim's plans are for OT. I suspect Qatar will improve the infrastructure around the ground but they'll probably flatten OT, whereas Ratcliffe is more likely to renovate OT in stages. But I could be wrong.

The key to improving the matchday experience lies in putting Arnold in charge of the catering. I think he'd have a real flair for it.

He can’t compete with Lens and Marseille? he’s about to enter his 5th season with Nice what the feck is he doing if they’re mid table at this point? The French league is poor. Lacazette is currently the leagues second top goal scorer with 25 goals he was washed up in the PL years ago.

The French league is shit. I’m not having any excuse why a multi billionaire who wants to own United and compete in the hardest league in the world can’t at least get in the mix for a Europa spot in France

I don’t buy your Swiss opinion either. How badly must it be run that he can’t even keep a club in that semi-pro league with his backing? something isn’t right with Ineos owning sports teams they’re awful at it.
