Club Friendlies - Aston Villa vs Man United on 12/09/2020

That line up is terrible mind. So not surprised by the result as our back up players really are rather shite.

Just hoping we do get at least two more signings in so some of these never see the first team again.

It used to be quite good. The circumstances at the moment might not be helping, but just get the impression they have been cutting costs a bit.

I used only get it for preseason on my phone and then cancel once the actual season started. Only a tenner or thereabouts for a month. With no pre season this year, there is no point getting it really.
 
That lineup is surely wrong? I am fairly sure Mata can’t play in this game because of apparent quarantine orders to stay at home yet he’s in the team? Dalot also doesn’t make sense if he has no future at the club

AWB has barely trained due to being in isolation, so Ole might not want to risk him. Did Shaw play as CB?
 
To be fair who in that lineup is going to start or be on the bench next week?

De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Shaw, Williams; McTominay, Fred, Pereira, Mata, Lingard; Ighalo. #MUFC

Fred will be on the bench if not starting depending if Pogba is out.

This is what worries me. It's no point complaining all the time but no other top 6 team would be giving new contracts to and relying on Mata and Lingard and Pereira for even their bench. And we still have a few other (nearly)-past-it like Mata or simply poor players. Somehow the team is full of players who should have retired or moved to lower quality or intensity leagues. Some mentioned last time that we could be in trouble of crashing out of top four and there were some kind of arrogant opposition to that thought, something which is a real possibility. It takes injury or burn-out to 3 to four key players and we are done.

Maguire was given extra time off, Bailly and Jones haven't trained. Rojo and Smalling are considered to be in a different bubble training away from the group and Tuanzebe might be fit if we make it to the 4th round of the Carabao.

Wan Bissaka is also missing.

Fernandes was in Portugal for the birth of his child trained today, Pogba was absent due to Covid. Matic wasn't in training,

Rashford is injured. Greenwood ?

That leaves James, Van de Beek, Martial and Fosu Mensah.......

Pereira lingard mata...still part of the plans clearly. The people running this club have a lot to answer for....

Our best bits of transfer deals will be on MUTV, so for $42 I’m in. Feck the first team kids are where it’s at. Owners not interested in challenging for titles with the first team.

That lineup may be awful but those are the players Ole has to come off the bench yet again.

Our business so far leaves us very much at risk of not making top 4 and not much chance of maintaining 3rd.

We really need to get a move on and strenghen.

Seems that way doesn't it. Though he did talk about players that got International minutes. Most of that line up been just training, most didn't even play post lockdown, so they need minutes if they are going to be of any use at all.

BTW - what time is the match? On MUTV it shows 16:00 for me, which would be 10 pm UK time - seems rather late.

Yes they are showing it delayed at 10.00 p.m. UK time.
 
Can only imagine its a poisonous watch based on team selection. We've watched the bones of that team enough to know. Wonder why he changed so much. Giving lads time on the pitch...... get it but surely we could have gone stronger and introduced in a more balanced way. As much as the hope kills me after finishing reasonably well last season, this selection shows the lack of depth we really have.
