CL Semi-Finals 13/14 - April 22,23,29,30

Robbie Savage in not talking shit shocker!

"The Champions League owes nothing to John Terry. He was stupidly sent off against Barcelona and he missed a penalty against Manchester United. He deserves it if he wins it."

Still find it amusing that people are complaining about them parking the bus.

We parked a triple decker against Bayern in both legs.
I find it amusing how much stick teams like Rangers and Celtic got in the past for 'anti-football', usually from fans of clubs with 20 times the resources.

Mourinho playing six defenders. As long as he wins it's all that matters. No one remembers the losers, only the winners. In 10 years time people will look back on this and, should Chelsea win, see it simply as a Champions League victory like any other. Yes, the football is frustrating to watch for a neutral but why should Mourinho give a shit what a United/City/Shrewsbury etc. fan thinks? At the end of the day his bank balance is adequate to put it mildly and his trophy cabinet threatening to spill over.

Why can't he win playing good football? You don't have to play defensively to win...

Mourinho plays to win would have been adequate justification, what you've said is pretty lame. In 10 years, people will still remember Mourinho serving up drab football.

And how much will he care? What is better, he goes out and plays attacking football and maybe ends up like Pellegrini is as things stand - a respected manager but with little to show for it. Or, he can play boring but effective football, win a treble at Inter, win a Champions League with FC Porto, as well as many domestic trophies. Some managers can play offensive football and win things, Mourinho has his forte in setting teams up defensively like no one else can. Play to your strengths.

I'm assuming this is what he intends to use?

Schwarzer
Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpilicueta
Ramires Luiz
Willian Hazard Cole
Torres
I don't see how this is anything out of the world when the only big change is playing a left back as wide left attacker. He was always going to play Luiz in midfield in this game for mobility and defensive purposes.

But... if his boss, and the Chelsea fans are happy, then what does it matter? He doesn't have a duty to "football" to play good football... if Chelsea football club put their priority over winning things, which I imagine they do at the moment, then the Mourinho way is the right way - for him and for Chelsea - to go about winning games.

Hmm. I doubt Abramovich is happy with the style of football.

To some yes, but I bet if they win tonight everyone will be raving about it being a tactical master class. He is arguably the best manager in the world, but so much money spent and playing like that just doesn't sit well with me.

In terms of being boring, this might actually rival that Chelsea - Liverpool game from back then.

I won't be raving. Chelsea should be able to beat Atletico at home by playing actual football. Might just tune in for the inevitable penalties.

Then why re-appoint him in the first place?
He tried to make them play football for a good part of the season. The change came after they lost the Stoke game and Mournho decided to return to his usual (winning) tactics.

Why the feck must every single comment be about buses and drab football? If you don't like it don't watch it. Its funny once but now its just boring,

Personally I enjoy it, theres something funny and somewhat satisfying about the almighty free flowing attacking religion getting frustrated by 10 men behind the ball.

I also do enjoy a good defence.

Atleti will struggle with Mourinho's disciplined wingbacks, and it will cost them.

I reckon it ends 2-0, no way Chelsea concedes a goal here.

I cant work out why people go on and on and on and on about it, its really not that interesting, literally. As my team it is interesting because things like this rarely matter if the team you support gets results. I can only think its jealously that one team is clearly more organised and faring better than another.

Personally I revel in the fact that teams know no matter how good they are we are the last side they want to play!

Pellegrini has my respect for being an honourable guy and bringing 4222 to the PL. Mourinho is a bollockless coward, just fearful of losing as Wenger said.

I like it because it makes teams have to change their approach and adapt, although I can understand why people like watching high speed end to end games with lots of space.

To me defending like you did against Liverpool is no more boring than someone like Barca playing short passes until the other team is bored to death.

Don't know but it's only a matter of time before the acrimonious fall out.
Doubt they'll fall out over football styles. Of course he'd want them to play expansive, but Roman wouldn't have appointed him because it was top of his priority. And it's not something that will happen right away.

Bottom line is fans wanted him, no doubt the players wanted to play under him and if he sacks him again, how good will he come out of it?

looks like a 5-4-1 to me.

Mourinho is making catenaccio seem positive. Negative beyond belief.

What's the story with there being a load of free seats? Cl semi final shouldn't be that hard to sell out.

Well if he is fearful of losing he seems to be doing a pretty good job of avoiding his fear.

Pellegrini has respect, Mourinho has trophies, unfortunately.

Usually moronic clapping from imbeciles. Incapable of paying respect through silence. Good to see the Atletico players and fans not clapping.
