CL Semi-Finals 13/14 - April 22,23,29,30

Of all the people to miss that  Tough chance to convert but for Ronaldo it should be a goal every day

Think that's unfair. Ronaldo is still as effective all round as he was at United. For some reason his crisp technique gets ignored these days as if he's just a juggernaut with shooting boots. Ronaldo's basic technical ability is like a well polished sword. Never deserts him like Rooney's does. The epitome of practice making perfect.

I agree that he's still got it, I just don't think we see it enough given that he's basically just a forward that finishes off every move for fun - except that one!

I'd love to see him a little deeper, or even hugging the touchline, to see what he could do every now and then.

Typical Guardiola football. 80% possession yet should be 2 or 3 nil down already.

I agree. The way they beat us was by being more direct and running at us like under Heynckes. When Bayern are overly patient, as Pep sometimes likes them to be, they don't have quite the same cutting edge.

Which is why Guardiola´s system relies on individual quality more than other systems. The cutting edge more often than not comes from brilliant individual actions by the offensive players. This is why their machine stuttered as of late, because especially Ribery fell into a slump.

For all the fuss there is about Guardiola, he may have made them play different but certainly not better, despite adding even more quality in the Summer with Götze and Thiago. Heynckes´ Bayern had way more balance in their game, which made them even more dangerous.

If he allowed his knees to get more than 3 inches away from each other he'd be faster than Usain Bolt.

The diving cnut.

If he let his knees get more than three inches away from each other they'd fall off.

The fragile cnut.

This is why boring tiki taka shite football should never be implemented for Man United.

I wanted Bayern to win because I want Ancelotti to become available.

Counterattacking football/speed will always be king.

Robben shot with his right foot. Does not compute.

Boateng is slow as feck and Ribery has been poor.

You criticized him for not being involved. His pass played a big part in the goal. Bitter much?
how am I being bitter when I just admitted it's his pass that made the goal. Fyi he is one of my all time favourite players and if I had to choose between him and Messi I would pick Ronaldo everytime.

You realise we got absolutely hammered by "boring tiki taka shite" in two Champion's League finals, right?

Do all those people in this thread proclaiming the death of tiki-taka and the superiority of counter-attacking football realise it's not even half time yet and there's another game as well in this tie?

This was the criticism from Beckbenbauer wasn't it? Everyone said the Kaiser was being over the top but he made a valid point. Its not that the Spanish way doesn't work, Barca and Spain have been far too successful to argue otherwise. Its just that it relies on having outrageously gifted midfield players who pass the ball with such speed and precision it can open even the tightest defences...

...it also helps to have a player as ridiculously consistent as Messi when all else fails too.

Doesn't make it any less boring.

I'd hate to watch it every week. Not that our football has been much good in recent years, mind.

Kroos needs to move to a club in the process of development and spearhead them to glory.

This pass-it-around-a-lot tactic is wasted on him.
