City v United for Sanchez isn't just about Money

Major changes coming down the N London tracks. Do you reckon AW is about to bale out?

Depends how this season plays out. As it stands we are further and further away from 4th but he might pick up a cup or so and decide to stay on for his last year. I've given up trying to second guess Wenger he should have left after winning the first of the 3 FA Cups or at latest the 2nd.

Arsenal are my second fave club. I used to annoy my N London cousins by cheering for them; they are all Spurs supporters

James Ducker reported that KdB will earn 16 million with all the bonuses and image rights. 200K or something is basic pay.

Thanks for the info.

Either way I don't see how City can't match the offer. The money shouldn't be an issue for City. On top of that rumour says we offer Sanchez 14m, that's still 2m cheaper than KDB. They had Yaya with their highest paid player at the moment and he's not even playing regular and his contract is expired end of the season which is a massive boost for City's wages budget and they can use it and add it on Sanchez's wages.

Wenger is a living legend but his time is up. He’s made too many mistakes and he can’t change his way. We missed out on Klopp imo he would have been perfect for us.

The useless board doesn’t help either. I would put Gazidis, Kroeke and Chips Keswick into one of those Tesla rockets and send them on a one way trip to mars.

Premier League minutes played by academy players 17/18:

  1. Manchester United 3.540
  2. Tottenham 2.738
  3. Arsenal 2.516
  4. Chelsea 1.335
  5. Liverpool 710
  6. Manchester City 7
Didn’t know where to put this, but it’s a good read in the midst of this football and ambitions (City) vs Money and 20 years of misfortune (us) malarkey..

l said the data above is misleading and I can give you proof. The stats above show that Liverpool only played their academy players for 700+ minutes. Which is completely false, Liverpool has fielded either Gomez or Trent Arnold Alexander at RB and their combined minutes is close to 2300 minutes. Stats say Tottenham played youngsters for 2700 + minutes, but winks, Danny rose, Dele alli and Harry Kane have clicked 4800+ minutes between them. If anybody has doubt they can check it.

Not saying you're wrong about your general denial of the stats but Rose and Alli aren't products of Spurs' academy.

EDIT: furthermore Gomez isn't from Liverpool's, not sure where you're getting your stats from..?

He’s just assuming young player = academy product. In that case we may as well count Martial as well.

So...why should he give up money for slightly better odds of trophies? Would you? Would anyone?

Yet that’s exactly what Alexis did in 2011, took less money to go to Barcelona. Now, he wants to cash in at 29 - not sure why anyone should begrudge him for it

He has no idea what he's talking about.

Isn't all this moot because Arsenal rejected City's offer?

Yeh but why?

Because City weren't willing to splash a bit more cash? I can't believe that City suddenly aren't prepared to meet United's offer? Like seriously...their whole team is just a big cash splash.

@RedMane all of the above.

Say what you want, but neither of those players were talented enough to play for senior team, they were bought not to fulfil the immediate but for their talent. Does it really matter if they were signed when they were 6 or 16? All these players they were bought in as raw gems with potential and had to be coached and grommed at academy before they make step-up and I believe that is what academies are for and a player which comes out of this process is going to be considered an academy player.

I didn’t understand the meaning of this post, like, at all. I provided the stats, such as they are. Didn’t mention a single name. There is a definition for what is considered a respective team’s «academy player». You disagree? Too bad. Take it up with the powers that be.

Don't forget Jesus. He will come back and it is obvious that Pep would chose Jesus over Sanchez.

Seriously if I was getting offered 450k or 500k a week i’d Be joining united in a heart beat. Not to mention the supposed 15mil sign on. That’s crazy money.
