City bid £8m for Scott Sinclair

Do you ever check anthing out before you post?

balotelli wasnt given his debut into adult football by mancini. His first club wasnt Inter. He made his debut in adult football at 15. It was know he was a special talent. It would be like given David Moyes credit for given Rooney a start. A complete no-brainer.

Is the discussion on whether youth will get a chance at City or who Balotelli's first ever team was?? Playing a kid is a risk whether they were a world class talent or not. Had you heard of Balotelli when he made his debut at 15 as I certainly had not. He may have been a superb talent but I thought he had a trial at Barca and they did not want him. Playing a 15, 16, 17 year old is always a risk. Mancini has shown he will do it.
The discussion is that Sinclair will not get a chance at City. I gave 3 examples of when Mancini has done it but apparently they don't count.
If City buy Sinclair then it is up to him to prove by his performances that he justifies his place. He will be responsible for whether he sinks or swims.
What that has to do with Balotelli making his debut at 15, I have no idea.

This actually looks like a good deal to be honest.

He won't be on astronomical wages, and he won't go for a massive transfer fee.

He'll be a decent substitute to bring on, providing width to a City team that considerably doesn't penetrate enough from the wings, and the most important thing is that he won't complain when he doesn't start games.

If he's going to City then of course he'll get a good fat paycheck to boot which no other club can/will match once he's been on the bench for a whole season.

The thing is though, City have a young age profile to their squad and it really is going to be difficult for ANY player not named Messi or Ronaldo to make a major difference. Youngsters need to be exceptional to make a difference.

Now City can not win. Spunk 25 million and everyone moans, spend 8 million on a youngish talent and everyone is underwhelmed.

For the record I think City would have retained the title anyway without buying anyone. The experience from last year and the fact the squad has played together for a year should help us in Europe. People forget this squad of players has only been together 1-2 seasons plus they are all young really.

If City managed to get Agger and Sinclair, manage to get rid of some dead wood then I will be more than happy.

People may moan but usually only from a position of resentment or jealousy! But deep down they can still see the sense of it.

You have answered your own question there Dave, the young talent does now have to be exceptional to get into the top teams, Sinclair is not in that bracket and that's why the point of his potential transfer is being questioned.

I don't understand how it would be career suicide. If he he good enough them he will make an impact. Surely it is better to challenge yourself at the top level rather than not try at all?

That's the thing, he ain't good enough for a club with City's ambition and for his age he should be playing on a regular basis.

Point still stands though mate, Mancini has shown he will give youth its chance. Sinclair will sink or swim, that's up to him. But he will get the chance.

He played Savic and then immediately started complaining about his squad after doing so. Savic does have 14 caps. Not exactly the epitome of inexperience. If he was bought to be a backup he should be played as one.
Hadn't Kompany been so wild with his discipline Savic would have played very little.

If Mancini is someone that has shown that he'll give youth a chance then I don't think there's a manager out there for whom you can say that doesn't do as much. Your team is filled with players in their peak years and that speaks volumes of the philosophy with the first team.

Mancini hasnt done a great job with Balotelli. He is a complete liability. Him getting banned after the Arsenal game was a great thing for City.
