QPR defender Christopher Samba will make a shock return to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala for a fee of £12m, Sky sources understand.
The defender is one of relegated Rangers' highest earners but the club are set to recoup most of the transfer fee they paid for his services in January.
Djibril Cisse has already left Loftus Road as Harry Redknapp reshapes his squad for the Championship, with further high-profile names such as Loic Remy expected to follow.
More to follow.

I thought he moved back to England to be closer to his family? Definitely not motivated by money this one.

Well if QPR are paying him £100k a week, how much must Anzhi be offering?

Less than £100k, as no one else will pay him near that?

wow

reckon given his huge wages QPR would have accepted 6-8 million for Samba

buying him back at what they sold him is silly

Maybe he had a 'release' clause.

still think had they offered 6/7 million QPR would have bitten their hand off

I reckon this is money laundering - Russian mafia are using Samba as a means of moving 12 million around Europe every 6 months

He'll sign for QPR in January again

I'm surprised the fee is so large, sugar-daddy or not - good business I suppose by QPR (if you ignore the stupid bit of business that created the whole situation in the first place).

Must have a great agent. Wondering how much for 'arry cut.

Wait, hang on.. Didn't their chairman say somehting along the lines of ' they are buying him because his wages are so high.. Idiots.'

I wonder if it was part of the original deal, a buyback clause in the event of relegation?

Strange situation!

QPR spent 12.5 million to get him and are now selling him for 12 million, how is this good business?

They've made a loss on him, they were paying him ridiculous wages for months and his rubbish performances helped get them relegated. I guess it says a lot about QPR that that's good business for them.

We should have bought him. Reunited that impenetrable Samba/Jones partnership.

You know. The one we scored 7 past.

In seriousness, I've never rated Samba. He's a big lad, gets stuck in, has a Vidic-like bravery when it comes to sticking his head towards anything, but he's not really all that good.

Just had a look he's only 29, I thought he was well into his 30s or maybe it's because he's so shit that he looks older. His agent must be sat somewhere smoking a huge cigar crying with laughter.

It's bizarre how some of these transfer prices work. £12 million for Samba after the season he's had, £15 million for Carroll, £12 million for Fletcher, yet we'll probably sell Nani for less than them both.

This is the funniest transfer story. Qpr paid him an elite wage and he performed like a donkey and now Anzhi decide to give back the money QPR paid for him. Brilliant business

After signing him Redknapp said something about if needs be they could sell him for £12m, so I suspect there was some kind of clause/deal pencilled in.

And knowing Dirty Harry he got a share either way
