I don’t quite get it but do you get a kick out of it when you post any negative tweets you can find onto the Caf? I’ve also read you were the biggest transfer muppet around so something must have broke you back then

The woody years did him in.

I think if he just wants an easy life with less pressure then he obviously picks Brentford. If he wants to challenge himself again and play European football he opts for United.

Guys had a brush with death do you couldn’t blame him if he wanted to just tick along somewhere instead of going to United with the weight of expectation on his shoulders.
There are huge pressure for small clubs to avoid relegation.

So you think there’s more pressure at Brentford than United?
I can only say the pressure for Leeds and Everton last season were huge to stay up. I couldn't say if Man Utd players had the same pressure to get a 4th spot. I can probably say arsenal player didn't.

To be fair to @ehsanul, he's just posted a source. Not like he's made this up, it's out there and he's simply posted it. It might not be the news you want but it's just what's out there.

Albeit his username pretty much says Arsenal.
I’m looking at his posting history, it’s literally page after page of negative tweets or short posts calling someone shit

Excuse me newbie?

Everything I stated is based on how this club has been run in the last 10 years.

Have you even been a fan that long?
Yeh I've been a fan for 30 years mate, just cos I'm a newbie on this site doesn't mean I haven't been a fan for a long time.

Not for Eriksen. He could just leave and join Man Utd.
I am just saying playing for smaller club also has huge pressure. Anyway for technical player like Erksen it is generally more enjoyable to play with higher quality players in bigger club. Players in big club in general won't lose the ball easily so it is less frustrating to play with.

Then you should have spotted the sarcasm and dig at the clubs failings every season in the ability to make a transfer happen.

Oh. My. God. Superiority complex, much?

Possibly the worst thing i've seen on here, that.

It's hard to spot the sarcasm with some of the crap you post mate. Anyway that's enough of that.

I do hope we sign him, I think he'll be a great asset when Bruno is having off games, he can be that creative spark we need.

I'm sarcastic 99% of the time.

The 1% I am serious, it usually has the words Phil and Jones in the sentence.

Yeh I hate when posters do that, as I said to him in my reply I've been a fan for 30 years, so I'm only a newbie in status on this site. I would've thought that'd be obvious for some posters after so many years on here.

I'm sure we say this every summer, but doesn't this just feel the bleakest summer for links we've ever had?

Struggling to convince a medical condition 30 year old Eriksen to come along.
Shades of Fabregeas Barcelona Moyes situation with De Jong.
Assorted utter randoms like Timber who we all know isn't either an attacking full back quality player or a dominant centre back.
The MD coming out with nonsense about how the "money is there" Woodward style.

Sigh. Maybe underwhelming windows are good after the ones we thought were great that turned out to be crap? :)

It's just friendly hazing. Up until a few years ago we sequestered newbies in a pen until they proved their worth. Now they are free to spout their idiocy in the mains five times a day. It's only natural we are flippant and dismissive with them. :)

Maybe it would help if the mods could tweak the site so it shows how many likes the newbies have, that we we know if they are promising talent or not.

Nothing like a dose of negativity eh?

"Struggling to convince" however bit of a stretch...no?

This is faaaar from a Moyes/Fabregas situation

Do we know that? Do we know that really?

Is that really nonsense? Are you going to be happy with 5 signings this season (if it happens) or do you want 10. Would that make you happy?

Christian Eriksen is my favourite non-United player, so I'd love for this deal to happen.

He's, what, 30 now? Hardly over the hill like some are making out in this thread. Plus, we're horribly short on world-class midfielders right now.

Who would be an 'exciting' link though? I think we've just learnt by now that
1) nearly all links to us are nonsense and barely worth reading,
2) no single player is worth getting excited about. We've been burnt too many times with flop expensive signings.
3) the squad is so far away from challenging that we need 5 or 6 to be optimistic

He's not, no, when you just factor in age. But he obviously has other issues surrounding him that may have a big impact on his longevity. I really rate him and would like him here, but there's also a part of me that would feel a little uncomfortable watching him. Obviously, it's his choice and he seems fine with continuing to play football, but I feel like I would be watching him just waiting for the worst to happen.

Would already have happened if he signed for United

You're right pal, we're well on track to a brilliant summer of recruitment.

I mean Brentford should probably have the least pressure of any club in the PL. They have the lowest finances in the PL I think (maybe 2nd lowest now that Forest have been promoted). There's a very good chance they could be relegated this season imo considering Toney seems quite intent on leaving and I don't think Brentford will be able to replace his goals or Eriksen's creativity if he doesn't rejoin them. Ultimately, if they get relegated I doubt their fans would be outraged with the club and players considering they don't have the same resources as the other clubs they're competing with. They did incredibly to do as well as they did last season. Everton obviously have more pressure as one of the few teams who have never been relegated from the PL, with loads of players on very large wages and run by an extremely wealthy owner. If that club was run properly they should realistically be challenging for top 4 or at least EL considering the financial resources they have.

Pressure at Utd right now might be the highest in the world. The fanbase hates literally every player and they are subject to constant abuse and every one of the players seemed absolutely miserable by the end of last season. Hopefully that changes with the break for this season but ya, this is not a low pressure club to come into. The pressure most were putting on Utd last season was to challenge for the title (and it wasn't just Utd fans saying that) so to not get top 4 was an absolute disaster. This season expectations will probably be slightly lower and getting 4th would probably be seen as acceptable but the pressure is still going to be massive considering there are a lot of other strong teams who will also be competing for top 4.

I can only say the pressure for Leeds and Everton last season were huge to stay up. I couldn't say if Man Utd players had the same pressure to get a 4th spot. I can probably say arsenal player didn't.

I’m talking about the club itself, not a very specific scenario which you can apply to anything.

Leeds and Everton are both bigger clubs than Brentford too so I’m not sure of the relevance here.

Pressure for the players is different. If maguire was playing for some midtable team his life would be much easier. But if you play for the big boys, every mistake, every bad game is magnified.

Based on every reports I read, and after putting all of them together, It seems Eriksen prefers to go back to Spurs as he prefers to stay in London but Spurs haven’t make a progress to proceed the deal for weeks as Conte wants to focus on other areas. Due to this, Eriksen is giving spurs more time (a week may be) but if spurs don’t make their move then he will choose us.
