Christian Eriksen | Signs for Manchester United

The AM role is arguably our strongest area of the squad. Granted we don't have a very strong squad filled with quality but we really don't need another AM.

Bruno, Donny, Hannibal as our main three with the likes of Sancho and Garnacho able to fill in too if needed is more than sufficient.

A very bizarre signing if we get him.

Can anyone see us signing him if Spurs are genuinely interested and also make a bid?
Spurs would be favourites but there might be a chance that Eriksen would be tempted to join one of the great clubs. Even if we aren't good right now, we'd still stand out as the biggest on his resume. It's something to tell your grandkids. But I doubt it would be a bigger sway than London.

Why would a player choose a team that’s not in the Cl over a team that is? Obviously we’re a bigger club but we can’t just go of that anymore… seems a lot more players are attracted to playing in the CL. It’s like they don’t realise it could only be 1 season of it there missing out on.

Well, you can probably offer him higher wages than Spurs would be willing to pay, and possibly make bigger promises about playing time than Spurs might. And he might think he stands a bigger chance of breaking into your first XI than he would at Spurs.

It wouldn't be all that surprising if he chose United over Spurs, assuming that both clubs want him.

Well Eriksen is no Modric. His story is a remarkable one and its the romanticism of it that is blinding people.

Eriksen was flopping at Inter and clearly passed his best. Granted he's done well for Brentford and Denmark but he's nowhere near the Eriksen of old. He won't necessarily be a bad thing as a squad/rotational player but he's not the profile of player we need.
He didn't flop at Inter. He struggled to adapt to a new team, a new league and a new position, all at the same time. By the time the season finished he was beginning to establish himself as a regular and an important player.

like Sanchez, Cavani, Bastian, Falcao, Ighalo, Zlatan and so on. Why don’t we sign these players when they are in their prime. It’s pure BS. Yes he could be an astute signing, I’ve always liked the player but the time to get him was when he was leaving Ajax

If it’s true about him wanting to stay in London though then that goes in your favour. He could probably fit in our team now since he’s been playing as more of a cm nowadays rather then a cam but I still think it would make our team unbalanced with both him and Bruno in the team. I see him playing more in your team seen as though you play a back 3… won’t matter if you have an attacking mid playing cm with the extra protection at the back.

Let's face it we are going to sign Eriksen, Bale,Pique and Lewandowkski.

would he want to play for Conte again after his spell with him at Inter. I think at where he is in career and what he has been through Eriksen will want reassurances about playing time.

ETH knows his stuff. If he wants Eriksen, then he knows what to do with him. I trust him. And you should as well.

Why he should choose United instead of Spurs?

Bad blood with Levy having been messed about maybe? Didn't have the best of times under Conte either at Inter. He also left Spurs because he wanted something different before. There's also an existing relationship between Eriksen and ten Hag.

So there could be some reasons, but he'll have offers beyond Brentford, Spurs and us, so who knows really?

You lot need to bore off. United are a much bigger club than Spurs. He’s already spent 7 years there and won absolutely feck all.

I have and still will suggest 2 those players:

+ Christian Eriksen. Free transfer. For RCM/LCM role. On a one year contract with option for another year. If both his health condition allow him for another year. But having the boy under. Kenneth Taylor both battle for RCM spot and squad depth. Not using the back up for Eriksen. Because its equal competition. But you know it. Not totally rely on Eriksen
+ Kenneth Taylor. The upcoming promising RCM player from Ajax. MV 4.5 mill Euro

Both 2 really good creative cm players under 10 mill euros.

Watch closely at Kenneth Taylor left foot in this video:

The boy left foot is really precise. He can be the future answer of Tadic for United. Beside his ability to score.

How i will line those 2 up:

Eriksen/Taylor - Fred/Garner/De JOng - Bruno/DVB. There you have. Doubles for each spot.

Both Eriksen right and Taylor left pass foot is really good and precise.

With the marker value of 4.5 by Kenneth Taylor. I suggest and think Ten Hag shall consider bringing Kenneth Taylor to United. All under 10 mill euros plus add ons for Kenneth Taylor is so good for the qualities and abilities he is showing right now. The boy has what it takes.
Again. Under 10 mill euros for both Eriksen and Taylor is really bargain.

He doesn't want to come. This has Di Maria written all over it. Spurs are in a perfect position to sign him this year.

His age and his already being in London might be a factor in this case, but in general, I doubt any player is choosing Spurs over Man United because of one year of CL.

He would be stupid to pick us over Spurs, Spurs have done some excellent business this window already. The Glazers would love him though seeing as its a free transfer

There have been rumors about ETH having a two striker system to accommodate Ronaldo. Eriksen coming in might indicate that. Having Sancho and Rashford rotate, with Bruno at 10 and Eriksen in one of the 8 positions, FDJ at the 6. We would need to sign a good wing back, but we already need that anyway

What's wrong with this club. Let's sign Lewandowski, Kante and Bale too while we are at it.

You're joking, right? Ajax would never do that, he just cracked the first team and will now replace Gravenberch in midfield. Why would they sell him for pennies when they can charge another 40mil after next season. And as I said, he just got into the first team. He's nowhere near good enough to play at Man Utd, he wasn't even a regular starter under ETH. He also said he's signing a contract extention, if he hasn't done so already. I love the positivity, but this is not a deal thats going to happen, nor is it a deal ETH is even considering.

Wouldn't be a chance at that. If this and FdJ are both an actual thing, I would imagine something like:
Ronaldo
Sancho Bruno/vdb Eriksen
De Jong - Fred or mctom

Bruno/Eriksen interchangeable. But that's quite similar to what he did at Ajax, just flipped. Tadić on the left is like Eriksen on the right, Sancho on the left is like Antony on the right, de Jong the deep roaming playmaker like Gravenberch (or FdJ) was, his partner to just be a positionally sound ball winner, and then the #10 a hard working guy. He'll adapt a bit of course, and the fullbacks are definitely an issue, hopefully we do something there, but I can see him doing something like this. It's lacking some pace, but his teams never necessarily had players with great pace (or weren't reliant on that).

I’m optimistic, but people need to calm down with this a bit. ETH doesn’t have the answers until he comes and shows he has the answers.

I don’t see ETH opting for a one man midfield, though I haven’t watched FDJ much.

If Eriksen is signed, it will be as depth for #10 or a wide playmaker after moving on the likes of Mata and Lingard. We’re not going to ask him to reinvent himself as a box to box midfielder.

Can Eriksen play the Schone role do they have similar profile.

he can defo play deeper and in a possession team he would be in his element. Some of the greats went from cam to cm/ dm and he has all the ability to do it too. That’s my thinking with this Signing and I’m all for it. This is a replacement to mctominey not Bruno!

He's played for Tottenham...they are in the CL...they are in London where he's comfortable in. I think Spurs will beat us to this signing

Surely us actually tabling the offer (allegedly) rather than just negotiating suggests he's not a plan B?

He’s also been benched a lot by Conte, not had his best form under Conte, and United are a miles bigger club.
I’d be surprised if he’d chose a year of CL football over everything that comes with being a Manchester United player.

So De Jong- Eriksen pivot in a possession heavy set up?

no chance Bruno gets made redundant. We would use both players. As fergie used to say if your good enough, you play. You pick on form and output, not a name or default, or to fit tactics of course depending on opposition. Learning off someone like Eriksen isn’t a terrible thing, I actually think Bruno can go up levels.
Ridiculous statement considering O'Shea, Park, Cleverly, Welbeck and even Chicharito (over players like Berbatov) started so many games under Ferguson.

It’s genuinely like living in a parallel fecking universe this place.

It really is. If he wants a special experience before he retires, he will want to say he played for Manchester United. For all our recent troubles, we have still won more in our down period than Spurs have in their most successful modern era.

There is no contest over which club is bigger and whose shirt is more special. It’s a mad discussion to even entertain.
