I would absolutely LOVE Christian Eriksen on this edition of Manchester United, but this feels like a tremendous longshot. Would Tottenham even be willing to sell this close to the close of the window?

I think he now just wants a new challenge - wages aren't the issue. He was hoping Madrid would come in for him but they didn't and we have offered a contract which he verbally agreed weeks ago however he appears to have had a change of heart and wants a move. It's been clear his head hasn't been right for months.
Yes we 100% would - we need money to bring in his replacement and players who actually want to play for the club.
Spurs don't need to sell him in the next few days. They can sign a couple of midfielders before the deadline and then sell Eriksen to Real/PSG by the end of the month.
Question is whether Levy would risk rejecting our potential offer in the hope a continental club would come in for Eriksen afterwards.

Can't believe it's taken this long for a semi-serious link to be made between Eriksen and us, he's the type of player we have been crying out for for years.
Ericksen has 1 year left on his contract. Just a few years ago, United got a, arguably, comparable player in Mkhitaryan for £27m - £30m who was in a similar contract situation.50m

That would be the one thing that would confuse me - not sure why Eriksen would move to Utd at the moment other than for money, which would be pretty disappointing. Having said that if he wants to go then let him go I say - lets freshen up the team and get a couple of players in to replace him.
Why would he choose to play for us after the incredible run in Spurs had last season? Surely he would want to win the CL more than ever!

No chance Levy sells to us unless we are coughing up double the amount anybody else is
Real are already in talks with Van de beek and have made Pogba their primary midfield target.
PSG have bought Sarabia, Gueye and Herrera.
Unless Juve want another midfielder, I don't know where he is gonna get offers from.

Don't believe for one minute we will be buying Eriksen this summer. Seems unlikely we would even try and if we did the chances we could persuade both Levy and the player are tiny.

Weird some people don't see him as top tier. 38 PL assists in the last 3 seasons, nobody in the PL has got higher (De Bruyne on 37, everyone else is miles behind). Same scenario for Key Passes, Eriksen, De Bruyne and Hazard were all in a league of their own compared to the rest of the PL. He also works extremely hard and isn't injury prone.

Great player but, again, you have to ask what's going on if we sign him.
Eriken is a fabulous player, one of the best in the league on song, however are his positions the real gap in the team? I fear that, whoever we buy in the more attacking positions, if we're relying on Matic to screen the defence it'll be for nothing. As Matic has shown, over and over in preseason, he struggles when under pressure and he takes too long to move the ball.
Our attacks will be cut off at source if we don't get a better deep laying playmaker. I can't see Eriksen playing #6.

This. Eriksen can play in CM or RW to dictate, similar to how Andreas played against Milan. Getting Bruno as well to play CAM is the best option we can take since both of them can drop into midfield as well. Later in his career I see Eriksen doing a Scholes and becoming a player who dictates from deep instead.

I get the huge difference in prestige of the competitions but we are considerably more likely to win the Europa than Spurs are the Champions League. As for using the stadium to criticise us
Would agree with that, which isn’t currently United. So for me if he was to leave it would be for one of the European powerhouses that I stated in an earlier post.
we need more creativity, we rely far too much on Pogba. put him and Pogba together in midfield and then see how McT goes providing the midfield cover. if he struggles then that's where we look to upgrade next year, along with (hopefully) Sancho.

Not that I think he’ll sign but people are going overboard at the gap between United and Spurs. If he signed, Spurs would be losing one of their best players and United would be gaining one. Unless Pochettino seriously improves the rest of the squad then for me United would have a better team than Tottenham. Plus he’d be earning more money. It’s not as ludicrous as made out here. Certainly not on Eriksen’s part.

Well you either sell him this window, for £20 million in the January window, or as a free agent next summer.
I get that you believe he's worth more, and under contract he is, but he's in his final contract year, and that decreases his buyout value greatly.
Really? Outside of Pogba we haven’t got one creative midfielder in the squad. Gomes, arguably, but he’s 18.
This is a total non-starter regardless but Eriksen would fit here hand in glove. Pogba moves back a little deeper and Eriksen plays as the most attacking midfielder. It would work provided McTominay does his bit.
Like Dybala, I’m baffled that people on here seem to be completing ignoring our persistent inability to create and score goals. Pogba can do the job further back; we need better options than Mata and bloody Lingard.
