I have always liked Smalling. So much respect for him as a person and as a footballer. Underrated defender and always a good option to have... but for the love of God, just sell him.
Id give them away for free to get the wage of the books. Or loan them out free until the contract is up if the club paid the wagesNobody can afford our players though. Nobody wants to pay the likes of Jones, Lingard, Rojo's contract and a transfer fee.
What stats do you want?So no stats then. Cool story bro...

If we look at Whoscored historical stats, Bailly has played 10194 minutes, which corresponds to 113 matches in his career (all cup matches not in this data). In this time he got 5 red cards. That equals one red card every 22.6 games.
Both Lindelof and Maguire have played more matches, but none of them has got any red cards.
Ramos is famous for his red cards. He has played corresponding 433 matches and has 15 reds. That equals one red card every 29 games.
Again: all matches are not included in this stats.
Lingard, and perhaps even Rojo at that time, were fine to offer new contracts to. They should have been on sensible wages though, like they would have gotten at any other club. Then if it didn't work out we would likely be able to sell them.We would happily give jones and Rojo away for free. No one wants them. I wouldn’t have given Bailly a new contract either. We should have let all three go when their contracts expired, now we are saddled with their wages, and the value of them being at the club is pathetic.

Edit: Re-reading your post I think you're talking about Bailly rather than Lingard being the third player. I'd say the same for him as well.
How are people going to feel when we end this transfer window with a net spend of £0?
Yeah, I also feel abit sorry for him to be caught in such limbo. But covid19 economy means every euro is precious for every club.I have always liked Smalling. He doesn’t play that well to be fair, but he is okay.He does play well when he's fit though. All his injuries seem to be different which suggest he's not got a long-term injury problem.
It's just whether we can afford to keep someone that only plays 20 games out of 50. It is normal now though, for United to have 4 CB's permanently recovering from injuries!
That's one of the major plusses about Maguire, he plays every week and brings an element of consistency to our defensive play.
It’s not your personal forum dude. It’s not your story dude.

I’m not really sure what you’re talking about. Someone wrote Bailly was a red card waiting to happen, you said that was talking crap bla bla show me the stats. I gave you the stats. Statistically Bailly gets red cards very often.Never said it was. Nor do you need to tell stories for other people.
Anyways back on thread, Smalling won’t be here very soon, so people can move on.

Do you know how forums work? Serious question. They aren't one-on-one conversations.Like I said not your story. Move on and it’s not Eric’s thread.

Somebody made a claim, you said they were talking rubbish and asked for stats, somebody else gave you those stats which showed the first person was right, you get super bitchy.
It’s not really up to you to decide what other people are allowed to read or write. Next time you jump in to someone’s “story” you should take it in a private chat if you have problems with the the forum idea that more than you can write here.Like I said not your story. Move on and it’s not Eric’s thread.

Obi wan Smalling we need you
What pisses me off more is that Ole wouldn't drop Lindelof and give Smalling a fair chance. If Smalling stinks up the joint well then fair enough but at least give him 90 minutes next to Maguire to see how that partnership works out.
Well he gave Lindelof the job because apparently he can play out from the back, the thing is most of the time our cbs pass to our midfielders or Shaw anyway, something Smalling could very well do so Ole is fooling himself thinking Lindelof is a better passer than Smalling. I've seen Lindelof on numerous occasions hoof the ball upfield under pressure and not play out from the back, something that Smalling would get crucified for doing.Thats whats even more appalling about the whole thing. Smalling, lindelof and Tuanzebe should have fought for the right to partner Maguire. Instead Ole gave lindelof the job and promoted Axel whilst relegating Smalling to 4th choice. Did he think Lvg and Jose were idiots for continually starting Mike?
This is the annoying thing if there was a huge impact on our attacking play I would be fine with things. But as it stands there is no difference at all. As you say we still have our cb's giving the ball to the fb's or the closest midfielder.Well he gave Lindelof the job because apparently he can play out from the back, the thing is most of the time our cbs pass to our midfielders or Shaw anyway, something Smalling could very well do so Ole is fooling himself thinking Lindelof is a better passer than Smalling.
