Chris Moyles

Its been really, really entertaining. Raising alot of money, and had me watching them and listening to the radio whenever possible.

But hes not for everyone obviously. But I have always liked him, so therefore have really enjoyed it.

He's a thundering arse of a man, who's about as funny as cancer. The sycophants he surrounds himself with, to laugh at his shite jokes, are the worst bit. Painful to listen to.

How, exactly, is he raising money? Presumably it's the great British public actually coughing up the cash? I mean, we all know how protective Moyles gets over his salary.

1 pound text donations. where they get the whole pound. Under an hour til the world record.

Worth listening to him at 6.30 - 7.00 in the morning. Sometimes he starts the show in a really bad mood and some of his rants are spectacular (in a 'did he really just say that?' kinda way).

Fair play to him ,how many on here could do a 50 hour stretch without the aid of drugs.
World record will be set at 8.30

I used to do a longer shift, once every 7 weeks for a year. Come in Saturday morning, go home Monday evening. 58 hours straight.

I was lucky in that I usually got some naps in but I had friends who did the whole stint without a wink of sleep. No drugs taken. Plenty doled out, mind you.

 thats a long time to go without sleep.
Longest I have done is 36 hours but that was not work.
Respect to people with jobs that mean that have to work stupid hours.

I'm not a big fan of his, but if he sets the world record and raises £2m for Comic Relief it deserves a little respect.

It's fecking horrible. Like I said, I was lucky in that the longest I ever went without sleep was just under 36 hours. It was quite unusual to do the full 58 without any kip but anyone who did was broken by the end of it. A friend of mine said he started hallucinating at one point.

That's doing a real job though. A proper stressful one too. Not babbling bollox on the radio, while lackeys bring you coffee and cakes.

I listen to him daily, not everyones sense of humour, but I like the guy and he's certainly got less cocky. Anyone who walks up Kilimanjaro for charity gets my nod of approval. Be amazing if he reaches 2m in this recent charity event. Fair play to the lad and good on the rest of the dj's/celebs who's helped him and Dave beat the record.

Poor Greg James

I dont really like the guy, he's up his own arse but respect for raising all this money for comic relief.

I have to listen to his show at work and it is so repetitive you wouldn't believe, i mean does anyone at all, anywhere actually enjoy that Roy Walker thing he has been dragging out for the last 10 years, thats literally no exaggeration.

£2.4m raised. Just about to finish up. 52 hours in total.

Good fecking effort, like him (and 'Comedy' Dave) or not.

Christ it was only 1.8 million when i was on the way to work. 600k in a couple of hours is great going, good on the listeners.

It was £1.8m still until about 10am, when Fern Cotton announced she would present half hour of her show in a swimsuit if they raise more than £2m.

Needless to say, the amount of perving bastards in this country not only managed to do that with ease, but also managed to crash the Radio 1 website by trying to watch it.

agreed , I do 12 hour shifts , but to be honest I have it easy.
Use my lappy. watch TV ,Coffee when i want.
I do find Moyles , very annoying and not very funny.

Moyles and comedy Dave are awesome and this show has been legendery. I don't buy this 'talentless' crap either, the guys managed to entertain millions of fans on tv and radio for 52 hours solid.

I don't like his show but he knows how to get money out of his audience to get it to those who need it more. Fair fecks to him and here is hoping he beats what he made this year in 2012.

What's funny? The guy has 8million listeners a day. They wouldn't listen if he wasn't entertaining, nor would they manage to raise 2.6million in 2 days if they weren't both entertaining and liked by a huge audience.

And people wouldn't read The Sun, listen to JLS, watch Sex and the City 2, or support Liverpool if they weren't all top quality would they? Lowest common denominator is nothing to be proud of.

Moyles is a self aggrandising bullying twat, who does have some talent, but usually let's his massively inflated ego get in the way of it.

Fig, 8million people of course doesn't mean in your eyes that Chris Moyles is funny.

It means that 8million people like him enough to listen to him, so he must be entertaining to them.

Anyway, like him or not he did an amazing job. His lowest listener total was apparently 2.3million. I certainly wouldn't want to be sleep deprived and still broadcasting to that many people.

Doesn't mean feck all. Absolutely nothing. Glenn Beck is not newsworthy, accurate, believable, or liked.

Yet, Glenn Beck has 3 million viewers on average a day and gets paid $30 million a year.......

Because he will appeal to the target audience. Radio1s is 16-28 year olds, and 8million listeners (not including 16-18 year olds because they don't count in official figures) is a huge audience.

If it wasn't a good show people would switch off in the way they did with Sara Cox before they switched her slots.

I can't speak for other people but I wouldn't listen to a show which is mainly him and others talking, if I didn't like them. Especially with so much competition out there from local radio and stations like Capital. I'm not forced to listen to him on Radio1 - I do it because I like him and his show.
