Okay so he's another employee to file under T for trash. He was hired temporarily just like Rangnick, so no problem.

The club pretty much fecked by circumstances and by their own doing.

Obviously, if your coaches were failures in other smaller clubs and your manager is only having too much interest in shitting on you in public, it would have been much easier for players to down tools (still not an excuse but can understand why our play got worse in some ways).

I remember pointing out earlier that there is no way we will get world-class training under these, and a few posters stated that we just can't rate the coaches just like that. Well, you can, and it showed.

DdG is staying & literally did that this afternoon as did McT after the Arsenal game. Shaw went away with England after an abysmal season for us, scores a goal & talks about how the club makes him feel rather than addressing his own failings this season.

We’ve certainly got a few leaving this Summer that we won’t miss but we’ve got a fair share of talkers left.

DDG has been great all season mostly.

Him & Ronaldo can say what they want, the rest can't

That's a problem for Utd players. Always the entitlement, never worrying about earning anything.
So your argument is that United should still be challenging without top level coaching?

Think about what you’re saying please. This is the absolute top level where fitness levels are ridiculous. If a top PL team isn’t getting the most up to date coaching they’ll slip behind

which is why I take any of their opinions with a massive grain of salt. Do you honestly expect Carl Anka to be objective about Rashford?
None of their reporting is opinion so that’s not really relevant.

SAFs comments were justified but he should have said that to Mike Phelan too.

Does it really work after

'I used to play for Manchester United, won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup. I was your right hand man as a coach for three Premier League titles, a FIFA Club World Cup, two League Cups, and two runs to the final of the UEFA Champions League'

Cant argue with that response!

You'll have to come with a bit more than that, son.

Interesting reading today's media. I don't know Armas. What makes you think he is subpar?

If Rangnick had decided to bring in our youth coaches instead, we wouldn't have done worse imo.

Fiar. Though if Woodward had picked a random poster from redcafe, they would have done no worse than Rangnick

It sounds like Ralf couldn't get in any of his first choice coaches (another win for BREXIT) and that the ones already in place which he wanted to keep had other ideas. Chris Armas was certainly not the first choice. The entire interim period has been a total shit show. I like Ragnick, comes across as an honest man, but it's been a massive failure. Whether this is the players fault, the club not backing him with any signings and failing to retain/hire backroom staff or even his own lack of ability, we'll never know. Chris Armas and his ridiculous-looking headphones are the symbols of this failure and I never want to see him near a Manchester United tracksuit ever again.

All that said, we might look back at this time as the start of a new beginning. Having just watched his press conference, I'm convinced that we have got the right man in Ten Hag and it was wise to not rush into another disastrous appointment.

The questions is how these two unknown American coaches qualified for visas but these top European coaches that Ralf supposedly wanted to bring in didn't?

His CV is enough. He has no experience of top level football. No experience coaching the best players.

I read todays media and I understand how it happened. RR didn't expect Carrick and McKenna to leave. Then couldn't get his 1st choice, 2nd choice or 3rd choice coaches, so simply had to go with coaches he knew, who were easily attainable.

But it predictably hasn't worked because he isn't a top level coach and doesn't understand the demands of the top level. Same with Sharp.

“Headline from Anka’s Friday article: Rangnick’s Honest Press Conferences Weren’t Always Wise but Carried Important Messages.” Care to revise your statement?

I'm shaking and salivating for the news he's leaving United.

I want this Kurt Angle lookalike contest prick to leave United more than I want United to sign Mbappe

I remember the jubilation here when the news came along that McKenna and Carrick would leave after Ole. There was cake and champagne to send them off and bring in these clueless pinecones.

You have no idea how involved he was, how good he was, and what kind of person he is.

We know how good he was based on pretty reputable reports stating the squad had no belief in him and Ferguson practically derided him on his experience.

Was definitely a weird comment. Phelan was part of an actual winning United setup.

What's new here? Another nobody slagging off a former United player who has achieved more in his little toe than the poster has ever done in his life. People who call themselves Manchester United fans and yet have so much disrespect for the players.

I'm curious, why is he so disliked? I wasn't really following the general coaching situation that much.

Is it just based on the fact we played terribly, the rumours (and as far as I know 'rumours' is all we have) that the players didn't like/respect him, or do we have something actually definitive that he was doing a terrible job at?

It's because he copied his favoured formation from Terry Venables: the Chris Armas Tree.

Bit like Maguire really. Poor performance and then just meme-d.

He’s been a joke in US circles for ages due to his terrible record and the fact it once leaked he coached his team to aim their crosses at players because he determined the opposing team had a propensity to sticking their arms out when blocking crosses, thinking they’d win penalties that way.

Personally, he destroyed my local club and took us from second in the league to last in the matter of months. I know some of the players and he's been resoundingly described as the joke that he is known as in USA and Canada.

But I bet on his new CV he will state that he has coached world-class players like Pogba, Rashford, Matic, Sancho, Cavani and CR7 etc at one of the top clubs in the world, Manchester United.

A new Armas makeover.

Whenever I see airpods I think of him. I know people are slagging him but I think his trick worked on me. Marketing genius. Now he can walk into any club and people will instantly remember him "oh you're the coaching staff at ManUnited that wears airpods!".
