Chevrolet Logo Discussion (Manchester United Kits 2015/16)

I really like that kit....if it ends up being red. Just get the feeling all the pics of it red are filtered and in reality it is that orange version we've seen so often.

Yes thought about Southampton, Stoke and Sunderland just when i posted. Don't know why we can't wear white shirt away at Arsenal?

EDIT: if we wear it with black shorts of course...

@jonesy00 in the newbies just sent me a link to pics of the third kit taken from the Dubai adidas store.

Bottom right from a distance, the shirt looks closer to red, but I'm pretty sure from other pics I've seen, the detailing is orange.

The Chevrolet logo is doing us no favours here. The plain Chevrelot logo would have been far easier to create a kit around.

I'm not sure of the numbers but would it not have benefited both United and Chevrolet if the logo was more kit friendly? United would have been able to sell more kits and that would have given Chevrolet subtle, but more exposure. As it is, the only thing I think about when I think about Chevrolet is how it takes away from the kit.

"So, are you not picking up your new Camaro this weekend?"

"Nah, I saw the Chevy logo on the new United third kit and it put me right off"

Nah the kit is just shit. We have a great home kit with the same Chevy logo and last year all three kits had same Chevy logo but were all better then this black one. TBF last year blue kit was probably the best of the three.

This black one would be better with nice colar, white Adidas badge and true United badge. And it looks like it have some kind of black pattern which looks terible.

I don't really get the fuss that is being made over the women's shirt, surely girls will want something a bit more girly? If not they always have the option for the men's shirt.

I have seen lots of people wearing our new top and it looks nice, in asda today some sweet kid had the full kit on, i bet he has worn it everyday since it was released :D

wanker

Point taken. But speaking as a European, no one cares much for Chevrolet. They just so happened to have put an ugly gold cross on the front of the United kit.

The likes of Arsenal, Real, PSG, AC and Bayern all use simple logos and their kits look great. Plenty of fans pick up kits of other teams they don't support based on them having a nice kit.

Surely an eye catching kit with a subtler logo would give Chevrolet better brand recognition. Plus more instances of their logo being seen in public through increased kit sales.

It's just another approach which I think could work well for both parties.

The United kit will be seen by millions of people on TV, on the internet and in newspapers regardless of it's aesthetic qualities. To consider better brand recognition by seeing some guy wearing the shirt in Asda is probably thinking a little too small.

Edit: That being said I get why people want simpler logos on kits like the black one for instance. I think that black kit is pretty sweet (I really like the 90/91 patterning) and a white Chevy logo would probably look better.

The black pattern is the same as the one on our 90/91 away kit.

Over 15 and I get it, but you can't call a kid a wanker for wanting to look like his idols.

At the end of the day a sponsor is about the money the pay to put the logo there not about what it looks like on the shirt. I don't think there has even been a sponsors logo that has added to our shirt or made it look better they would all look better with no logo. For the money they are paying us I am not surprised they want the full logo on the top.

Hope that 3rd kit turns out to be red and black.

That black kit is vile, looks like something warrior would produce.

Which is annoying because I normally love black kits.

I don't understand why they've done that with the club badge. It looks really clumsy and indistinct. It can't be for monetary reasons, so I can only imagine they have done in in homage to van Gaal's insistence on complicating things.

Chevrolet won't care if it's an eye catching kit in fact they would probably prefer if it was bland. An eye catching logo on the other hand would suit their purposes.

Hence the giant gold cross on Uniteds shirt.

good marketing strategy from the girl shirt. everyone are talking it now

Does he have any of the infinitely nicer second strip?

It's not that bad, but on kits like this is when the Chevy logo sticks out like a sore thumb and looks pretty shite. It blends in with red but not with white and certainly not with black and orange!

Maybe I'll order from Sportsdirect then, its a chance to get myself a giant mug. When I last ordered from there mug was broken somewhere in the post. :(
