Chevrolet Logo Discussion (Manchester United Kits 2015/16)

The polka dots on the sleeve ruin it.

I wouldn't really see it as a nod to chevrolet, more just an attempt to make it look less crap. @Raw's version looks a huge improvement on any of the others imo, and with a little silver (maybe in place of the dots?) it'd look awesome. Sure it's not traditional colours, but I like that a hell of a lot more than the orange.

I'd actually like to know how shirt sales compare pre and post Chevrolet. I know I am not getting a United kit with that monstrosity on the kit. Wonder how other people around the world feel.

Wouldn't bother me too much.

It does't really bother me since I like the logo and their cars. Stingray.

Likewise, I haven't bought one due to the logo and unless it changes I don't imagine I'll buy any of the Chevy shirts.

Why not just have the writing, ffs?

The fact that no other top 4 club, and indeed no elite club in Europe has a fecking coloured logo should let people know that it isn't the norm, at all.

Any of you photoshop warriors able to make it all red, in same style as Juve's. So a red adidas logo, red Utd logo and an all red chevy logo?

Aliexpress are selling the red & white kits, the red kit doesn't have the thick white band round the sleeve, so could be the correct design, the white one looks good.

Are you talking about next seasons kit? Why on earth would you buy a kit before it's been released? Even if it didn't turn out to be completely different, it'd be an obvious fake due to small differences to the real one.

Yeah I'm waiting to release, no chance I'll risk buying a rumoured shirt. Will probably get the home and third, I like white kits but they get dirty too easily. Hoping Rothwell and Pearson are on tour and given squad numbers so I can get them on the back.

Where in my post did I say I'm going to buy it? Of course it's fake, it's just interesting they are selling a design, they must be pretty confident.

Have you ever bought from Aliexpress? I got my lad last seasons black Madrid kit for £10 delivered, I've compared it to a real one and I can't tell the difference.

The black one? I did that a while back, it's in the old thread somewhere.

Edit - here they are:

Yeah I know they're really good fakes, but my point it that no one really knows what the kit will look like so even if the one on aliexpress is similar, it'll have tiny differences that people may or may not be able to notice!

Yeah, Aliexpress has had next seasons rumoured kits up for a while, I've seen a three different kits on there all claiming they're next seasons. I'd wait for confirmation from the club before purchasing anything, fake or legit.

Usually these good fakes are made from the actual genuine item anyway, so they can see every little detail!

Could you whip up a version with just the 'CHEVROLET' lettering and no emblem (as I firmly believe it should be)?

You're really good at this and I just wanna see it as it should be.

That last one is actually the best one.
Yeah, I like that and the all red one the most. The real one is the worst by far. :/

Sure, I'll take a look some time later today. :)

I hate when they change the colours of the badge to match the kit, especially with that rumoured black kit where it's a terrible shade of red/orange.

I bloody hate those Addidas shoulder stripes. Reminds me of Chelsea and Liverpool, yuck.

Bring back Nike.

For my own personal taste, a black away kit should always have mainly white trim, similarly a white away shirt black trim. My first contemporary United shirt was the Admiral one, back from the days when a kit was used for years before changing it. I know we kept that one for years.

So for me, the red with white trim is classic, it goes back to the classic shirts of the Busby Babes and earlier. OK, bits of black crept in in the 80s when Adidas took over, but that's fine in moderation.

Anyway, my point is that now that kits are redesigned & replaced every season, there's only so many combinations that can be done. That's why we're ending up with the Awful Chelsea-esque Black/Orange thing (maybe) etc. An annual redesign means these things will be pointlessly changed each season, just to make them different to the season before. In fact, I'm almost as disappointed these days when we have a good kit as I know it'll be gone after a season! I can't help thinking that if we kept kits a bit longer, that they'd calm down on the pointless tweaks & over-designs & just go for something a bit more classic & stick with it. Then maybe we could have ever changing away kits? And even more ever-changing training kits?? It's only a season or two since some clubs were proudly keeping kits more than 1 season. On some levels I'm not bothered, though I reckon I'd be pretty annoyed if I had kids, it's a lot or pressure on parents to keep up. It's not easy for parents to be tight-arsed meanies thesedays! Gotta have that kit, iPad, Xbox etc... I still remember my old man proudly getting me the England 74 world cup (away, I shit you not!) kit, obviously from a bargain bin as we didn't qualify!

Anyway, I'm not so much bemoaning the state of things, just more a point that all the details and trims & odd colour combos are bound to happen if the kits need to be shaken up once a season.. Anyway, whatever happens at least no-one's making us change our main colour (Cardiff) or making us wear really shit kits (Liverpool etc...)

Although there are obviously a lot of rumoured kits floating about etc... the leaked one with Youngy in it is 100% legit. Hard to say how it will actually look in person though just from the leaked pic.

Reminds me of the United I grew up supporting. Liverpool should go back to Umbro along with Chelsea...to complete my nostalgia fix.

Liverpool were Adidas too, Spoony - the Crown Paints and Candy shirts anyway.

Liverpool were Umbro up until about 84 or 85. Chelsea were Le Coq around that time. Think they went to umbro in late 80's

Ah, didn't know that, was before my memories.

Although saying that, I started supporting United when Liverpool were in the Adidas 'Crown Paints' shirt, and that was around '85 and '86. Everyone supported Liverpool but my family were from Manchester so I supported United!

The new kit gets delivered to the club in the next couple of weeks, hopefully there will be more leaked photos

Will the academy kids get to see them or will they be kept in hiding until August 1st?

No, the academy kit is handed out on 1st August, they will have to wear the nike kit for the first week of pre season training.

Got it wrong about the third kit, it's 100% confirmed Black, which comes as no surprise, the training kit is blue.

So which one's the home kit then? Surely it doesn't have baggy sleeves?
