'tis a silly place
Chelsea want Rual Tamudo, maybe as a replacement for Gudjohnson ? Sunderland also want Tamudo, so they're are out of the running for Eidur as well. We should strike while we can. ;)

Why would we want Gudjohnsen? He doesn't have what it takes to be a united player.

Why's that ? The partnership he formed with JFH last season proves he is world class. He'd also be able to arrive on the cheap, not more than 12m or so. He is quality. He's young and quick, he'll go far.

He is a class player, but would demand a classy fee. I would love for United to get him, but I don't think we will--sadly.

He would only cost about 10m, and I can't imagine his salary being too high. With the potential he has, and kenyon said we will only sign on the cheap, I think it could happen. Though I do agree SAF has other players ahead of Gudjohnson in his mind, though.

Given his performances last year, and the state of the transfer market, I can't see him going for 10 million pounds, or at least not to United.

A big hello to everybody from the new signing Keith,I did not realise Iwas the only one to use my real name. Are you all seceret agents or what? anyway I would have to agree with gazza on the Gudjohnsen saga,I belive he would be a great signing. He is young and has bags of talent, just like myself.I was reading that we are also talking to Crespo also good.I think with who we have now we will win the premiership, but it would be asking to much of Ruddy&Ole to lift the champions league as well,as Forlan is rubbish. Well its been nice talking to you and I look forward to lots of healthy debates over the forth coming season that will once again see united reign supreme <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> COME ON UNITED

Maybe. Maybe not.

B4 long, this forum will be known as somewhere you can't voice your opinion unless you're a sycophant.

True, but I just find it questionable why a United supporter would rubbish a United player on his first post. I wouldn't walk into a Liverpool pub, introduce myself, and then say how shit heskey is, even if it is true.

I agree it isn't the best way to introduce yourself to a forum!

Me too, got to know who people were first, and what the forum was like, and why Davo was allowed to remain on the forum. Ok, still working that last one out. ;)

Diego Forlán plays professional football for Manchester United. He also scored a cracking goal in the World Cup for Uruguay recently. I could go on for hours about how labeling him as rubbish is simply f'kin ridiculous.

If you think he's a genuine red, fair enough, I think he's a wind-up.

Lots of genuine reds have strange opinions. Lots of genuine reds are less than patient.

He might believe himself to be a genuine red, even if the rest of us think he's a twat.

Or he might be a wind-up.

And genuine reds are allowed to criticise - if it's constructive. Sometimes even constructive criticism is frowned on.

You're right. Ole is slow and lacking creativity. ;)

What's constructive about any criticism any of us could make?

Well that's been said anyway. From all those who want to see a new strike partner for Ruud.

But some players are not allowed to be criticised. There's a lot of hypocracy on here.

Regardless Livvie, this keith geezer made the most stupid critique of a player I've ever seen. He said he was rubbish. That was it. He's rubbish.

Despite the fact that I believe that no criticism can be constructive (as Ferguson surely doesn't come here for advice) what keith said was just plain fecking stupid.

thats just it.. none of us know anything compared to fergie...

how many things has he won?? ;)

All players can be criticised when necessary, and should be praised in the same way.

And everyone is entitled to their opinion if it's not just slagging off a player for no good reason.

If Ole goes a few games without scoring, then he should be rested and someone else given a chance. I've never suggested otherwise. Ole isn't above criticism. I've "supported" Ole because for the past 6 years, I've believed him to be the best option for the team, not because I support the player, full stop.

Its standard group psychology Liv. If someone new walks into a pub and immediately criticizes things, the rest of the patrons (who are mostly already familiar with one another) are bound to react to it. Doesn't mean the criticism can't take place, just that there's going to be a reaction from everyone else.

Anyone who thinks Forlan is rubbish must be a scouser..

Only an evil scouser would say something as contraversial as that..

Certainly only somebody of questionable judgement or other allegiance would say that about a 23 yr old in his first full season at one of the biggest clubs in the world having just played in a World Cup.

I did agree that it wasn't the best first post.

But it does seem on here that honest criticism isn't welcome.

Even Veron says he had a bad season last year, but no-one on here was allowed to say it without getting a load of abuse.

I don't mean the morons who just said sell him, he's rubbish - but if anyone as much as said he hadn't had a good game it wasn't acceptable.

But as a first post, it was a bad move. And I know that whilst I might criticise the players (or the manager, eh Giggzy), I will defend them to the hilt against any ABU who is slagging them off just because they're United.

I'm sorry Liv but you are generalising a bit too much.

I think, by the end of the season, just about everyone agreed he had a bad season for whatever reason. I was one of his staunchest supporters throughout the year but that didn't stop me from agreeing that he had a bad season.

Honest criticism is totally fine but don't expect me, for one, to react politely when someone makes a comment like miles' gem.

Ruddy thinks he's worse than Barry Hayles...and he's got inside info..

I reckon that the majority of football fans would currently rate Forlan as being crap as opposed to good..rightly or wrongly

Wrongly. They would be basing their opinions on his goal-scoring record, not his whole game.

If he wasn't contributing anything on the pitch, as well as not scoring, they would be right. But he's actually been very useful.

But as has been pointed out to me on here many, many times...strikers are judged by there goals or lack of..

Surprisingly I'm hearing differently since you signed Forlan..

In all honesty I think its too early to judge, but in the little I've seen of him so far I've been anything but impressed...some of the chances he has missed have been unbelievable

Perhaps you hearing this from the defenders of the faith type posters rather than those who, you have to concede, do present an objective opinion more often than not.
