City lover tag coincided with a really bad day so that's why I didn't see it as a joke like scouser lover one.
To be fair, yesterday highlighted another reason I wanted them to beat City, because they really are no threat to us.
This is what I've been saying all along. Liverpool are irrelevant to our ambitions. We've finished below them a few times recently, but that was during a bad transition and if we aspire to win titles which we do, we don't need to be worried about Liverpool until they show something other than what they have been doing.
Successive relegations down to league 2 and maybe I'd breathe easier!
I think the "city lover" tag will be a lovely idea for some of the pep love in the forum. Please do consider that.

I don't understand this reasoning. You said that there's no chance of City blowing their huge lead but also, that they were never going to go unbeaten? Haven't both of those things happen in the PL in the past? Arsenal went unbeaten and Newcastle blew a 12 point lead at this stage, no?
So why is one of those not possible while the other one is?
I understand that both were highly unrealistic, but not impossible. If the past were to repeat regarding the leading team blowing a huge lead, isn't it better if it starts asap, regardless of how unlikely it is? Liverpool catching us was always in our hands, but City losing their lead was not.
I just find this whole argument you guys had here, kind of weird. But not being from Manchester, I guess it's just a different point of view for me.
He is ! Created our two best chances, scored vs. Everton, nice passing and brings the ball out well, organises the defence, takes no blame for the Swans goal (scrum of players so did well to even get his head on it). Given a little time to settle he's going to be awesome. Glad you noticed it too.

He slowed you down so badly every time he brought the ball out of defence I thought.
Arsenal are the only team to have done it and imho they were a better all round team man for man, but probably playing against teams in the league that are not as good as the equivalent teams today. Because of the money, even the smaller teams have a better standard of player. It’s only my opinion of course but that’s the 2 reasons why I was confident they’d slip up somewhere
Newcastle blowing 12 points? It seems a lot but they didn’t have the experience or squad to hold on. Fergies side was relentless and when you see your manager cracking under the strain on live tv then that must transmit to the players.
All in all it’s obviously easier to lose a lead than it is to go unbeaten
Not at all. Our whole defence and midfield (esp. Can and Wijnaldum .. by far the worst culprits) were somnambulistic. 2/3rds of the pitch was vacant anyway .. you can't exactly just hoof it up into the Top 1/3.

He was 100% at fault for the Swans goal. Carragher said as much. The way he headed it meant it could only go downwards, back into the danger area.
His premature celebrations when Firmino hit the post from his cross was a bit cringeworthy as well, not sure if anyone noticed. He's probably trying too hard at the moment, which is understandable.

He came through a scrum of players all going for the same ball and all off balance due to pushing and shoving, getting anything on it was an achievement to be honest. Notice the other 4 Liverpool players who didn't get near it at all, he jumps through all of them & the Swansea players to prevent a loose ball in the box .... Does anyone think he 'meant' to head it towards the middle of the box ?! Getting to it first is usually a positive, don't let the opposition get a head on it, in this instance he was just a bit unlucky in that he couldn't get any purchase and it just fell nicely for Mawson. These things happen, I don't put this down as a clear "Lovren-like' defensive error.

In my defence, it was more of a short and sharp clench of the fist, rather than a punch to the air because I felt secure enough in my belief that Pool would feck up their smaller games to actually want them to beat City and give us some hope in catching up to them.
It wasn't as if I'd turn into a Liverpool fan. All I want is for us to have some chance at actually catching up to City and Liverpool winning that day would help.

I didn’t see this particular goal but in general I’ve always felt that he’s not as dominant in the air as he should be for someone his size.
Overall I think he’s a very good defender with potential to get better but that price... wow
