changing times

if only we where champions of england, european runners up and only missed out on winning the cup due to an uncharacteristic mistake. we are proper shit

nothing has changed.
the only world class players we have ever signed where veron and rio.
i would take much more enjoyment out of winning things with signings such as smalling and hernandez.

Arguably Rio wasn't world class yet when we bought him.

We have had a good system, we've generally bought potential world class players, and Sir Alex was never afraid to spend the money to get them, even this Summer despite our cash restrictions, he spent pretty big money on Jones and De Gea.

I don't care what anyone says, I'd rather take a punt on players like that, who could potentially be here for at least 10 years, as opposed to the likes of Chelsea who spend way more for already world class players who have less time remaining in their careers, and look what's happened to them in the last few years as a result.

i think his performance in that world cup elevated him to world class. regardless, thats splitting hairs.....the point being....we make world class players from potentially as opposed to buying them. 99% percent of our fans prefer it that way. it also means thats the players become "united" players and have an affinity with the club. if we signed sniejder for £30m on £250k per week.....he'd have no loyalty or passion for the club in the same way even the likes of anderson and nani do

That's basically what I said ;)

Don't put Anderson in the same bracket is Nani in terms of loyalty or passion though
