We all see the headlines stating we are one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world, making record amounts of cash via supporters and commercial deals. Then we watch our team and clearly sees the weaknesses in our squad, and wonder what happened to the days when we would boss the midfield and wait for the next devastating counter-attack.
I like many of you purchase my season ticket each year, and in the summer scan the papers to see what world-class, game changing player we are going to sign and wonder how they might help us take the next step.
Then reality kicks in and i except that i am dreaming, we are now a club ruled by the bottom line, a club which is nothing more than a cash cow for a family across the pond.
Please don’t get me wrong, i think the players we signed in the summer have, or will prove to be a success for the club, though i did feel a world-class marquee signing was needed after the drubbing we received from barcelona.
Now for me the main weakness i see in the team is in midfield, hoping to see us make serious bids for a defensive & attacking midfielders like Gago/M’Vila & Hazard/Gotze. Now i think we have to except either the club no longer intend to spend large sums on such players, or SAF has gone all arseness on us, wishing to unearth rough diamonds and make them into world-class players.
As it stands we have a midfield that is consistently overrun and is essentially made-up of an immobile player in carrick who seemingly goes missing when the battle begins, an aging great in giggs who no-longer has the legs, a player in anderson who i fear will never become the player we hoped he would become. For me the only plus point is young cleverly, though i fear we will see no large changes when SAF states that he hopes carrick will now push on and become the midfield craftsmen we our missing.
So to finish i think we are to just except that the our team will become less affective on both the EPL and European stage, and merely just enjoy the game as we reminisce about yester year like other supporters.

Imagine if we'd only bought a world class midfielder. We would've won the PL every single season. Even the ones we played before buying a midfielder.

This is great. If you were leading soldiers into battle, but secretly wanted them all to die, this is how you would do it.

So who are we signing?

We aren't, that's the point. We've reached our inevitable decline now, so its best we all forget about recent history and start to accept the mid-table team we are on the road to becoming. It was a good ride mind, can't really fault it.

When reading threads like this, where people indicate the Glazers are preventing Fergie from signing this midfielder we need, I always wonder do people think Uncle Malcolm went to Fergie at the start of the summer and said "Here Alex, here's £50million to spend, spend it as you wish, on one condition, you can't sign a midfielder. You can spend around £20 million on a 20 year old goalkeeper, £16.5 million on a 19 year old centre half and an undisclosed amount, thought to be around £16 million on another winger, who we don't really need. But under no circumstances can you sign a midfielder. Ok? Go"

Would make sense wouldn't it? Bloody Glazers, handcuffing Fergie and stopping him signing us a shiny new midfielder. cnuts. shitc**ts in fact.

Friends Romans Countrymen,
Lend me your ears,
I come here not to bury United but to feck em in the ass..

Can't believe were halfway through, 3 points behind the leaders expecting a huge mount of players to come back from injury and we're writing ourselves off now.

Obviously we have issues in the middle but have a young and very talented core which you seem to be writing off. We've had loads of injuries and to be 3 points behind isn't the end of the world.

Reading the comments here, I'm glad I didn't read the OP (which looks like a truck has fallen on it by the way)..

He must be one of our facebook fans. He just writes everything without abbreviations because the forum requires him too.

We are not going to win league, qualify for europe, OT will go into ruin and lower division's await our ageing squad. But chin up

Didn't we just beat the league leaders away, whom we remain 3 points behind? Did we not 6 months ago, reach the Champions League final with a transitional squad?

Hysterical post from a spoiled OOT typical of this board. It's other United forums where true season-ticket holders post their educated opinions.

Perhaps if we'd been able to buy players like Kompany, Aguero, De Jong, Johnson and Nasri we wouldn't have missed out of that moral victory that City had over us last weekend.
